Y/N POV:
The cold night snipped through your thin leather jacket and grey hoodie as you suck on a blood lollipop. Your cold shallow breath swirled around the red sweet like a coven of witches dressed in loose white dresses around the campfire worshipping whichever entity they swore loyalty to. Spinning around and around like Mother Earth does around the sun. Connecting oneself to nature.
The breaths were graceful like the waltz the Earth and the moon were dancing to in the ever-lasting celestial ball.
Unlike the raging smoke from the almost hellfire, Wednesday had caused earlier in the day during the "big reveal". Burning Crackstone's statue to the ground to declare war to him. To remind him that no matter how many outcasts he may have trapped and burnt alive, your kind wouldn't be scared away so easily. Your kind would always come back whether wearing a new face or clawing out of the unmarked graves within the woods. Haunting the present and the future with reminders of the past.
What if the monster is a soul of the past? You thought as you pop the candy back into your mouth, bouncing it around your mouth. With a head shake, you dismissed the thought. That wouldn't make any sense because if the monster was indeed a soul of the past then why would they be killing outcasts?
Come on Wednesday, wrap this shit up I'm freezing! You thought as you glance down to the window below the ledge you were lazily sitting on. The shouts of headmaster Weems could be heard along with Wednesday's snarky remarks about the situation. The entire conversation was just Weems complaining about the public burning at the square and how everyone was demanding answers from her. And most importantly how it must've been Wednesday's doing (even though there was no evidence other than the fact she was the only one who didn't run during the explosion and was smiling as she played her cello).
A smile that made her eyes twinkle in the flames. A smile that wasn't threatening or forced, but a genuine smile. The very same she had the night she met you in the music room. A smile that proved she wasn't as numb as people thought she was. She was human- alive! She did indeed have feelings but they weren't as simple as others were. Other's emotions were clear as a self-portrait vs the Raventte's were abstract as an abstract painting. A type of art style that people would glance at quickly and jump to the conclusion that it was just a mess and an unthoughtful piece of art. When in reality the color choices with each splash, stroke, and and scribble had meaning behind them. A meaning that few would be able to catch. But even if they did pinpoint the emotion behind the artistic choice, even few would be able to piece together the meaning of the painting. In the end, the masterpiece would have different meanings due to being misunderstood. Misunderstood like Wednesday.
At first and a hour-long glance people would think she didn't have emotions other than boredom, annoyance, seriousness, or anger. But at a deeper look one would find the beauty within her dark eyes- she cared and felt moments of happiness but in a way that the commoners wouldn't understand. Which meant she possibly also knew sadness and fear.
You couldn't help but smile as you heard Wednesday calling out Weems for her bullshit and refusal to openly admit the dark history of the town towards outcasts. She was 100% right, the outcasts needed to stand up for themselves.
"Maybe you could help me make this world a better place for our community," you said as you place the lollipop up to the moon. Making it appear as the blood moon that reflected the color of your eyes.
"I'm a very patient woman, Miss Addams." said Weems. With that, you heard the door slam shut. Causing you to take a deep breath and fall backwards into the shadows to drown in them before walking out of a shadow Atredis' eyes let you see for a bit. The hallways were empty minus for your partner-in-crime who acted like she didn't see you, shoulder-checking you in the process. Yet, in the 2-second interaction both of you mad eye contact. The bloody moon meet the vastness of space.
