Chapter 44: Revelations Part 1

Wednesday's POV:

The chilly November sunset's breath stung her already aching mind as she walked up to the abandoned Gates' mansion. Tree roots growing all around it as if it was trying to hold back whatever hatred was left behind by the family. At the same time, trying to hide another dark chapter of the old small town to usher in a new era of peaceful coexistence. Why does this have to remind me of you?

She hasn't spoken to you in since yesterday yet it has felt like a century. It felt odd not having the comfort that there was someone she could speak to easily with no judgment. Judgment, something she didn't care about till she met you. Making it impossible to even talk to Thing for even he would sometimes judge her with his snappy fingers. Was she tempted to break the no contact? Yes. Was she going to do it now or soon? Probably not for once again her pride had her in a chokehold. This time is was sinking it's fingers deep into her neck like your fangs did the day both of you confessed to each other and began dating. How she wished both of you could go back to that time of sweetness rather than sourness.

Pushing to gates open, she pushed memories of the past away. It was no time to linger in the past like a ghost. Nor look into the future. It was time to be in the present because ghost can't kill and the future can be changed. Or she theorizes it can. Goody showed her this place for a reason. Maybe the answers to who the beast is and other players could be found in this haunted house. If so, then maybe she can stop the burning of Nevermore and your corruption. Maybe while she was it, find away to get your ex away from you (totally not jealous).

However, upon reaching the door she saw a figure approaching. Quickly diving into the bushes she soon found the none other than the mayor looking confused and worried. The way his fingers shook as he dialed the sheriff told her that he was panicking. Something very wrong was happening in that house and he had witnessed it. His message only proved it. Something was wrong and it had to do with the case.

Without another thought, Wednesday and Thing snuck into the car and drove into the falling night with the Mayor.

Soon the treeline was replaced with buildings' skyline. Peaking slightly out the window Weathervine came into view. And sadly, the bench behind the sheriff was a couple of your Vampire friends, laughing. All minus, Y/B/F who looked terrible. Almost as if someone told her that she her pet had died in a brutal way. Once in a while she would shove one of your other friends or bare her fangs. Luckily, you weren't there. Which was odd, you were always with your friends. Just keep making me more suspicious of you Y/N.

However, her view was obscured by a zooming blue car, smashing into the sheriff! The sound of the impact knocked your friends from their stances and rushed outside to check on the mayor along with the Sheriff and other bystanders. A few of them were about to run after the car only to stop when they spotted her. Y/B/F looked like she was split on what to do, go to the Mayor, go to her, or after the car. As for the rest of your friends looked at her with suspicion. How was she so claim? What she was she doing behind in the Mayor's trunk? What was she doing her?

The blood of the Mayor snapped them all out as many began dialing 911, others keeping the crowd away, and a few helping the sheriff minister first aid. All she could do was stand there frozen.

"Wednesday." Snapping her hand to catch one about to touch her, she brings herself back to reality. Turning she sees your best friend's serious face that had a wisk of concern. "Please go into the cafe. I know you guys are fighting right now but I can't let you get caught in the cross fire of whatever this is."
