Y/N pov:
Wednesday wasn't kidding when she said this was her first time breaking and entering into a morgue. Or in general a high-security place! Your brain was piling up with file complaints that you will dump on her once this mission was over.
First, why did she ask Thing to open the door!? Did she forget that you can transport both of you through the shadows?! All you needed was just peek through the shades and see where a shadow was. Now the system would have a log that someone opened the garage door! And Thing's fingerprints.
Second, for the love of god, the saints, angels, the devil, and demon kind WHY WOULD THING SLAP BLACK BUBBLEGUM ON THE CAMERA!! YOU HAVE DEMONS- DEMONS WHO COULD MESS WITH THE TECHNOLOGY! YOU EVEN HAD ONE THAT COULD CAST ILLUSIONS! NOW THE SHERIFF HAD WEDNESDAY'S DNA!
THIRD AND THE LAST THING YOU WILL THINK ABOUT OR ELSE YOU WERE GOING TO SCREAM- WHY WASN'T SHE USING GLOVES!? NOW THE SHERIFF HAS MORE DNA EVIDENCE ON HER!!
You fought the urge the smash your head on the wall! Note two thousand to self: give Wednesday a crash course on breaking and entering.
"What's wrong with you?" she asked. The audacity! All you could do was give her a deadpan expression before opening the door to the containment room with your gloved hand. The goth girl's skeptical look only made the pile of written complaints grow.
But there was no time for that! Immediately entering the room both of you began looking for the dead body while Thing went yl make copies with Atredis (you told Atredis to make sure he didn't leave fingerprints).
"Wednesday use this," you said as you took off one of your gloves. Her dark eyes glared at you questionably. "To avoid leaving DNA marks."
With that she took it before swinging the containers open. A smile was plastered over her face with each container she opened. Taking deep breaths with closed eyes as if it were ancient wine. Getting high on the chemicals that prevents decay. Her eyes twinkled like the single stars in the polluted night sky.
"Glad to see you're having fun," you said as you followed her lead on the other side. "Lowkey this reminds me of a date I had a few years ago,- should we consider this one? Ah ah-"
A loud slam echoed through the room, making the metallical wall quiver. Wednesday stood there frozen. She slowly turned to face you, reminding you of a demonic doll. But unlike a possessed doll, she wasn't smiling, she was.... annoyed? Well, it clearly wasn't anger but it had a wisp of it that was buried under other emotions- peeking out like a skeleton's finger through the roots and leaves.
She stood there staring at you till you let out an awkward laugh and a sorry.
Immediately you began to swing open containers as if you were looking for why you said that or to throw the moment into its grave and lock it up so it can never see the sun ever again. Why did I do that? I did I say that?! WHY I'M I THINKING OF HER?! Wednesday isn't like Eve at all- she's not a war maniac!
Glancing over your shoulder you saw Wednesday's ears slightly red while the rest of her face was pale like always. Memories of your interactions with the human girl trickled before your eyes. There were times she could be gentle and other times she could be cold, distant, and cruel. She wasn't scared of you nor was she throwing herself at you to gain your favor. The longer you thought of those moments your mind began to surface memories between you and your ex that you had tied a brick to and let them drown and sink to the bottom of your mind. Those memories were now clawing into the ones with Wednesday and showed that Evelynn acted similar to Wednesday- cold and cruel and gentle. However, unlike Wednesday, Evelynn showed romantic interest while Wednesday isn't. Secondly, the human girl stated from the beginning clearly that she was going to use you vs Evelynn didn't. She tricked you into becoming her puppet- her little toy soldier. Lastly, Wednesday was human which makes her unpredictable vs Evelynn was a demon it was clear as day that she was lying to you constantly but it was always impossible to tell. Wednesday is easier to read thanks to her human nature. Ironic isn't it? The one that was predictable by her nature was hard to decipher because she was so good at lying vs the one that is unpredictable by nature due to how human's feelings and emotions swing from one side of the scale to the other in a beat was the easiest to decipher. Humans are creatures that were given a choice to lie or not vs demons are forced to lie, even when they don't want too.
