Y/N's pov:
The past 3 hours have been nothing more but a blur of trees, flashing siren and hospital lights, and phone screens. The sounds of dials, beeping, and sirens had become the lullaby the night chose to sing instead of a nursery one to rock you and Wednesday to sleep. However it failed.
Sitting in the white hallway still covered in red paint, you both sat in silence. Shoulder to shoulder, pinkies half an inch from each other. Wednesday's dark eyes had taken her somewhere you couldn't follow her while your eyes bore into the black and white marble as if you were trying to decipher whatever code was within the black lashes that mimicked ants.
First Tyler and now Thornhill. They know each other due to his job. So there's a connection. Second, how did Thornhill know where to go? She wasn't behind me when I ran. Therefore she didn't see the direction I went- she's a human how could she!? Yet, she found us. You rank your brain around and around as if it were a dryer- trying to drain out the minor details to see if they straightened out the narrative of the crime. Could she be the monster or it's master? Or could this be something minor within something bigger?
"Y/N, Wednesday" said the very voice of the woman who had become your new suspect. Looking up close, her smile felt cold under the fluorescent lights of the hospital. The way she bent down with her hands on her knees made the smile feel like she was taunting you- telling you were nothing more but a child with no true power. It made your blood boil like the itch on your back that hadn't gone away since the forest. "The doctors say that Eugene is now stable. Let's get you girls back to school-"
"Earl Y/L/N!" shouts someone. With a closed-eye sigh you turn to face the clicking heels. There you found none other than Evelynn wearing a open blazer with a slightly unbuttoned blouse. The way she was dressed looked like she just walked off a Paris catwalk during fashion week for Polo or Channel.
Ms. Thornhill adjusted her glasses as she rose from her bent position. Adjusting her glasses she spoke, "Oh hello. You are-"
"Eve Sinclair. I'm a representative of the Royal House of Tepes. The security team of Crown Prince Dimitri alerted us about what happened at the dance- we hope the school will investigate what happened soon, it would be a real shame if this happens once again in the future." Evelynn's fake brown eyes briefly flashed their true golden color before stepping closer to you, resting her hand on your shoulder.
"Due to what has happened, his royal majesty has requested the Headmistress to allow our Earl to sleep tonight for a few days along with her companion for safety. Plus, it's a two-hour drive back to Jericho."
Thornhill was about to argue when five Vampiric soldiers appeared right behind Evelynn. "Nothing to worry, his majesty is covering the expenses and headmistress Weems has agreed to this predicament."
The magenta-haired demoness pulls out her phone showing an email confirming Weem's declaration and three black cards. Seeing that there is no other option, the redhead agrees and follows one of the soldiers. Once she was out of sight, Evelynn turned to face you and a detached Wednesday. Quickly, you grabbed the human girl's hand, yanking her out of her mind. "Lead the way, Miss Sinclair."
The drive to the hotel was nothing more but awkward. Your ex who had proposed to you was next to you while your crush was on the other side. And across from you was your latest suspect. Although now one wanted to address it, the atmosphere in the car was thicker than the rain storm drenching the car. So thick, that it felt like the car would sink into the concrete due to the heaviness.
Luckily it went somewhat away when Thornhill went to her room which was on the first floor on the other side of the hotel while you, Wednesday, and Evelynn were escorted to the other side of the hotel at the top floor. The Elevator ride felt like the damn thing was slowly going down instead of up due to how the hidden golden eyes glanced daggers at the nearly black eyes on the other side of you. God kill me now, please.
"I wish to walk Addams to her room," you state once you reach the floor. With an eye roll, the demoness plays into your game.
Arriving at her door, you soon realize your rooms are next to each other. Preventing you from talking to Evelynn, while also allowing you to stay close to Wednesday to protect her. Yes you had soldiers who would be stationed outside both doors but still, the fact Evelynn was there along with Thornhill terrified you.
"Try to get some sleep Wednesday." She nods at you and closes the door. Once she was out, you briskly turn to your ex and grab her forearm and drag her into your room's bathroom- shutting the door. "What are you plotting?! Why are you here and why are you with my spiecesmen!?"
With a chuckle the demoness gracefully puts her arms over your shoulders, locking you in her embrace as she leans down to your height slightly. Her eyes return to their natural golden color. "Just trying to make a good first impression on who could be my future family."
You roll your eyes. Before you could say anything you feel something warm on your lips. In a flash the warmth is gone before you could reject it. Without a warning she winks and disappears in a poof of black smoke.
"UGHHHHHH!" you shout leaning on the sink. This whole situation just kept spinning out of control to the point that you could decipher the colors and shapes of things. It all had become nothing!
You want to scream, shatter the mirror, kick the door, tear the curtains, destroy everything around you. You wanted to kill the monster. All you saw was red. The paint that drenched your white prestige club and your face was starting to look alot like blood now. The red palm marks that bruised the sink was none other than the hands of whoever was pulling the strings to this crisis.
"Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up" you whisper roughly, clinging on to your ears- nearly ripping them off your head. The world was shaking so much that you fell to the ground. The voices and screams of terror- people you failed to save or killed in the past. The roaring river of all the living in the hotel stormed into your ears as your eyes began to drown in murder's redness. The shadows were two swallowing the lights.
"My earl?" says a concern voice through the door.
"Y-yes?" you try to say calmly.
"Miss Addams requests your presence in her room."
In a blink of an eye your swing the door open, almost off its hinges. Soon you find yourself in front of her door. Before you could knock the door opens to reveal a now clean Wednesday. Still devoted of emotions but not as much as before. Tiredness hung lowly on her face.
Without a word she let you in and closed the door. Darkness soon swallowed both of you.
"Wanna talk about it?" You whisper. Wednesday answers by hugging you from behind. Burying her head into your shoulder blades.
"Can I hold you?"
You feel her head nod a yes against your back. Slowly you turn a return the tight hug. Silently promising that you won't tell anyone of this.
"Hope you know that's its not your fault. None of this is." You cradle her messy head as you guide her to sit on the ground. "I promise that we'll get revenge."
She tightens her grip on you briefly and murmurs something along the lines of leaving her into your chest. You ask her to repeat herself but her light snores is all you receive.
Repositioning her and yourself, you get a better look at her face that was now resting on your shoulder. The tiredness was beginning to disappear slowly as peace took over her dreams.
Fighting the urge to kiss her forehead, you lean yours against hers before leaning it back to rest your head to take a nap. Tightening your grip on her. "Love you Addams"
Wednesday's Pov:
5 minutes after you fell asleep she opened her eyes with shock and fear. She loves me?
Snuggling deeper into your neck and clinging on tighter she closes her eyes. "I....."
Images of Eugene's bloody body, images of the monster's other victims, and feeling the red paint on you that splattered all over you like blood flash in her mind.
"I can't say it." she whispers.
