"And you didn't think to mention any of it? I don't think Sigewinne would lie about such matters." She asked, her face stiffening as she ran her s/c hand to clench the cup of boiling tea. I didn't say anything, a lump sat in my throat. My eyes darted to the steam which swirled around her features - her beautiful face. I had lied, kept secrets hidden from the two of them, I wanted to grow but I didn't want to bring people down with it. If Y/N was to know everything, would she leave me? A murderer, in your grasp, as you kiss their face unknowing of their sins, "Wriothesley? Could you please answer me?"
For some reason, her voice stayed soft - she didn't seem scared of me? Her eyes held a gaze of love and admiration, not fear and tears like they did as they ran out the door, screaming murderer! Over, and over... and over again, like a chant towards a God. I risked all my morals to save them. Was it worth it? Yes, always. Would the media say it was? No, never. Why would the media ever view a murderer as a person with good intentions? They'll always blame it on something else - even if the truth had been revealed, "I-"Then at that moment, the cup of tea I had fell onto the table, shattering before my gaze. She gasped, standing up and grabbing some tissues, "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean for this to happen! If I've triggered you please tell me so!" She repeated again and again, which made me somehow feel more relaxed. She cared... unlike how they did - the eyes as cameras pointed to your face, the microphones touching your mouth just to hear the slight gasp. The clipboards the therapists held, writing down each bit of information before saying, 'Sorry. We can't help'.
"..It's fine. It just slipped." I ran my hands to grab the broken shards. She looked at me with confusion before speaking, "Doesn't that hurt? The sharp pieces, I mean." But I started to shake my head, a soft smile crossing my features. I traced each scar along each finger - some ran to the bottom of my knuckles while others were short and thin, "You get use to it after a while." I stood up, pacing over towards the bin in the corner to slot the parts in. I felt her presence shift behind me as she sighed, "So, how long?"
I looked back to her, no smile on her face. Though, her eyes showed everything. I could see love, care and sorrow but, deep within, I could see my reflection - the man I am today and the man I could have become. Maybe a high achieving lawyer, with such clear and perfect skin and beautiful slick back hair. But would I have ever saved Sigewinne then? From that night, those dark hours as water flushed across our bodies. She didn't look anything like her parents, and the way she processed everything felt ever so slightly strange, like she had been lying? "Since I was fourteen." I replied.
She frowned, her lip trembling as she walked over. I felt her arms embrace me, a sense of warmth crashing into me. "I'm so sorry, I didn't know. I'm sorry for being so hard on you in the past, I was just being bratty! Really. I hope you're feeling much better... after all of that." And her plush lips turned upwards ever so slightly, the corners showing the brightness of her heart. With hunched shoulders, I buried my face into the crook of her neck, "I'm sorry for lying."
Her hands caressed my back, "It's fine. I read some news posts about it... you're not the bad guy here. Just a good person, with the right intentions but executed them poorly. But, in a situation like that, I don't really blame you." Her lips pressed against my cheek softly, a giggle leaving her mouth as she swayed side by swayed, "Alright you big baby! Toughen up! You just had a rough patch." I slipped away from her embrace to stare into her stunning eyes. She gave me a thumbs up, her teeth glistening in a deep smile - the lights highlighted her features beautifully."Thank you," I whispered under my breath, "Truly." I brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear, tucking it in carefully - making sure not to tug on a piece. She giggled again, which tugged my heart strings deeply. She grabbed my hand and twirled, like a dance, "It's fine. Really. Just enjoy life for what it is!"
Right. For what it is... you and Sigewinne, you two are my life.
❛Forced to learn, it became a blur.
Words did not word and truths became lies.
I glide my pen along the page, ink stains bleeding through.
I weep with sorrow as I watch mum raise her hand, fists clenched tightly.
I would rewire myself just like that.
I had to keep my head held high, chest tight with a drowning feeling.
As if the world would just suddenly get better right then.
But it wouldn't.
Always giving a second chance, until that chance was brought to a crumble.Blood crashing to the floor, I gasped.
Knife clenched, I shivered.
She tried to grab me, to bring me down.
But I stayed strong, fighting for something I didn't know.
But now, I lay in warmth.
Hugged by the love of her.
She helped me through the darkness.
To which, I want to hold her hand.
Secure all of us onto the path of light.
