Remember M'Dear's Roast?

M'Dear had just roasted her first victims, Moz and Cocoa, who weren't prepared for what she had said. They were like the guinea pig for M'Dear because once she laughed at her own joke, it's like she knew she could laugh even more.
Cocoa: "That's not funny, is it?"
Moz: "No, it's not."
Daniel: "Hey, just relax Moz. All in good fun, remember?"
He said laughing.
M'Dear: "Daniel?"
Daniel: "Huh?"
M'Dear: "Are you talkin' while I'm talkin'?"
We all looked at him nervously.
M'Dear: "That's probably why your behind is always unemployed. Who gets fired on a day off?"
I'm not gonna lie, M'Dear quoting the movie Friday is so funny for no reason. I clearly wasn't the only one who thought so because the other McKellan kids were laughing with me.
Daniel: "No! It's because I don't have any skills."
M'Dear: "True that"
She said laughing. I covered my mouth trying not to laugh, or should I say to stop my laughter.
Shaka: "You sure told her."
Daniel: "I did."
He said unsure of himself. I shook my head.
Moz: "It's like she's the Terminator. How do we go back in time and turn her off?"
Jeb: "Listen, I've been trying to do it for years."
Grace gets up holding one finger and tries to sneak out.
M'Dear: "Uh, Grace? Where you goin'?"
Grace turns around nervously.
M'Dear: "Come on back here and get some of this smoke."
I look to my side to see Shaka's reaction, but he's gone. Actually, him, Mazzi, and Ami were magically gone. I looked around and then at Jade who was distracted by M'Dears rant. I felt a tap on my leg. I looked down and saw Shaka.
Shaka: "Hurry before she attacks you too."
I looked up and then back down.
Y/n: "Don't gotta tell me twice!"
I said getting under the table with the help of Shaka. I looked at the other three while we listened to what M'Dear had to say.
M'Dear: "How can you create a dating app for Christian singles when YOU are STIIILL single?"
??: "Ohhh"
M'Dear: "Huh? ...Baby, you need to stop bein' so picky and swipe left for yourself!"
She said laughing. I could hear other people join in the laughter as well.
Grace: "Actually, it's up!"
We all look around laughing a bit.
Grace: "She's just exaggerating. I'm really not that picky- Oh God, is that dandruff?"
She says disgusted.
Y/n: "Ewww....Shaka you better not have dandruff."
Shaka: "Uh! With this perfectly moisturized hair, I'd be shocked at my own self if I had dandruff."
I just shake my head while smiling.
Jade: "Oh shoot! I'm in her sights."
She said finally finding her way under the table.
Mazzi: "What took you so long?"
Jade: "Wha- what? You didn't think to tell me?"
Y/n: "Well, let me tell you....we were about to come back up."
She just looked at me unamused before we all got out.
M'Dear: "Jeb and I have been married for a lifetime."
Everyone starts clapping while I dust off my dress.
M'Dear: "He moves a little slower, and he's kind of forgetful sometimes, but he is still the most handsome man I've ever met."
She and Mr. Jeb hung each other while smiling. Shaka and I looked at each other. I just smiled at him before looking down.
Jeb: "Well, this party sure has cheered you up."
M'Dear: "I guess so...um...I lost a good friend...and I... I've been a little down. But all of you tonight have made me realize how blessed I am to be alive. And so, from now on, I am going to live in my truth and celebrate all of my 45 years on this Earth."
Moz: "Amen!"
Grace: "Let's dance!"
Daniel: "Soul Train lineee!"
They all cheer and get in line.
Shaka: "Are you coming?"
Y/n: "No it's okay. I'll enjoy from the sidelines."
Shaka: "Okay."
He said smiling and walking off. I just smiled and shook my head.

~ Time Skip ~

Y/n: "Do you guys need help with anything?"
The kids were tasked with cleaning dishes and putting food away.
Jade: "No, we got it."
I shrugged and sat down at the island. Cocoa walked into the house through the front door Moz was polishing the nice silverware at the dinner table.
Cocoa: "Hey Mazzi, what's the name of that fancy synthesizer you wanted?"
Mazzi looked at her.
Mazzi: "Oh, um...I..don't want it anymore. Thanks Mom."
Cocoa and Moz looked at each other a little shocked.
Jade: "Uh! Hold on! There's some more noodle in there."
Ami: "Oh...Got it."
I smiled while shaking my head. They're still worried about the bankruptcy. Moz put his stuff down.
Moz: "Okay. What is goin' on?"
Cocoa: "Yeah, you kids have been acting really odd for the last couple of days."
Mazzi: "We-"
Jade: "Odd how?"
She said in a high pitch voice with a chuckle.
Moz: "Jade?"
They all sigh and start walking to their parents. I just spin in my chair and watch's
Jade: "Okay...okay"
Shaka and Mazzi go grab the money they had earned and hidden before joining the girls.
Jade: "We know you filed for bankruptcy, and we've been doing what we can to help you guys out with money."
Shaka passed Moz an envelope.
Moz: "What's this?"
Shaka: "It's the money we've earned so far. We just wanted to let you know we'll be alright."
Mazzi sat a plastic container down.
Mazzi: "And this...is our combined savings. We're here for you the way you've always been here for us."
Jade: "Mhmm"
Y/n: "Aww"
Cocoa: "Wow. We have the greatest kids."
Moz: "Yeah, we really do."
Cocoa: "....plus one of course."
She said pointing at me. I just smiled.
Moz: "But you guys have nothing to worry about. I will....We will always take care of you."
Cocoa: "And yes, money has been tight for a while but C by Cocoa is turning a good profit and your father has some exciting news."
Moz: "Uh, well, I have been entertaining several job offers, and I've just signed a deal to be the new commentator for What's Up Football?"
Ami: "Congratulations!"
Cocoa: "Look, you guys can leave the worrying to us, okay? We got you. This family is thriving. And more great things are coming our way."
Moz: "Yes they are."
Y/n: "I told you guys it would all be okay, but nobody listens to me, right?"
I said laughing a bit. That's the one thing that I've always loved about the McKellan kids. It's not that they lack common sense, they always find a way to lead me into a fun new adventure by not listening to my advice and I'll never forget that.
Jade: "I am so happy to hear that. I will uh...just be taking that back."
She said snatching the money they had earned.
Cocoa: "Oh-"
Shaka: "And this"
He said grabbing the container of savings money.
Jade: "Thank you"
Mazzi: "Sorry. They're so rude....Now, about that synthesizer..."
Their parents both made an unamused face while I laughed a bit.
