I AM SO SORRY FOR NOT PUBLISHING: EEEEEEEEK ~kotlcandsokeefe out --->
She didn't remember falling, just remembered Keefe holding her as her tears soaked his tunic and his tears fell into her hair, "No." She whispered, desperately clutching Keefe's shoulders like they were a lifeline- the only connection that was tethering her from insanity.
"Shh." Keefe whispered, softly stroking her hair, he squeezed her once, "It's going to be okay Foster... It's going to be okay." He repeated- almost as if he was trying to convince himself of that. Oarlie blinked repeatedly, "Keefe- you're alive?"
The rest of the councilors filed in silently, and Marella's reaction actually brought a laugh from them. Her eyes widened and she stumbled back, "THAT WAS YOU?!" She demanded- though rather loudly- as Kenric, Tam, Eri and Dex ran in. "Aunt Mare!" Tam giggled- he.. Giggled? He ran up to her and whispered loudly, "Mellisa tried to set me on fire again! I thought you were trying to help her control that fire-hand-thingy! Did you tell mom?!" His voice was obviously just meant for Councilor Marella.
Sophie raised an eyebrow but didn't comment on the fact her daughter had a "fire-hand-thingy".
The rest of dinner passed without incident- beside Oarlie pestering Tam with questions about Mellis's 'firehand thingy'- which was obviously- "Well- this has been nice, but I have to go adore- er- I mean go feed Princess- Purry-Fins." Councilor Marella said abruptly as dinner came to an end- and the other Councilors stand up as well- before leaping away.

Chapter 34:
Sophie was laying in bed- cuddling with Keefe and the stuffed animals- when Keefe started to move to get up, and Sophie clutched him tighter, "No," She mumbled, "Stay." Keefe gave a small laugh, his breath hot against her neck, "I might consider that." A wave of affection swept through Sophie and she twisted and burrowed her face in his neck, "I love you." She mumbled and she felt him relax, the tension leaving him.
Keefe pressed his lips gently against her temple, "I love you too, you're my top priority." Sophie gave a gentle laugh that was slightly muffled, "That's news to me." She smiled as he fake-gasped. "Foster- I feel emotionally threatened." He pulled away, fake tears in his eyes.
Sophie untangled herself, got up, and walked across the room to her vanity, "Keefe?" Sophie gripped the locket that was set on a tray- set apart from the others. "Were you going to ask me to be your wife?" Keefe, gulped, then crossed the area between them, "Foster- listen, yes I-I was, but then I- y'know got amnesia, I- I just kept trying to work up the courage." Sophie grabbed his hands, stopping them from waving around as he animated, "Keefe," Sophie whispered. "And Foster don't get me wrong I-"
Sophie pulled him down her face inches from his and Sophie fully expected (and would've even supported) a wisecrack but, all he said was, "Why do you think Eri and Melissa have gold eyes with ice blue flakes, Dex has brown eyes with midnight-blue flecks, ice-blue and gold flakes, Keefe has ice-blue eyes with midnight-blue flecks, and Tam has a gold eye with ice blue flakes and a midnight-blue eye with brown flakes?"
Sophie laughed, "I'm pretty sure that's called genetic science."
Keefe shifted and rubbed the back of his neck nervously, "Well..." He took a deep breath, "If you want and I know everything that has happened yeah but... I have and always loved you and... I... Will you still marry me, Sophie Foster?"
He stepped back looking mortified, "I know you won't, I'm sorry I get it-"
Sophie pulled him down and pressed her lips to his, "Keefe," She whispered several minutes later after they had pulled apart, "I love you, of course, and if Grady approved, I'm assuming that's what you asked him, then even better." Keefe smiled slightly, but tears formed in his eyes.
"Hey, Keefe what's wrong?" Sophie wrapped her arms around Keefe and she felt his tears soak her tunic.
Suddenly she was in Keefe's mind the day of the party.
+Grady was staring at him. The guests distracted by his mother and the rest of the Neverseen-
Very Discreetly he tapped his temple and Keefe entered his mind Keefe I- I know you'll do everything in your power to love and protect Sophie so... Keefe Sencen, I will always welcome you into my family, I can't wait for you to be my son in law someday. No matter what happens here you will Always have my blessing. Even five, ten, fifteen years after this.
Keefe turned away, his eyes filling with tears.
Then suddenly he ran at his mom, knife in hand
She'll never do anything to Foster again.
Lady Gisela just laughed and pulled out her own knife.
E.L. Fudge cookies- this will be harder, just avoid the knife, Sencen, you'll be fine.
Keefe stepped forward, moving even closer to the guardrail.
You got this Hotshot. Keefe shoved his knife aiming for his mom's throat but it slipped in his sweaty grasp.
Lady Gisela laughed Oh Sasquatch- He felt it penetrate his throat, spreading warm blood down, soaking into his tuxedo shirt, throwing him over into the murky, rock filled waters.
Time seemed to move slow down as he fell, he heard Sophie's anguished scream that seemed to go on- Crack, His head hit a rock and he saw Alicorns. That person was still screaming,
Hm, I wonder why that person is screaming, why am I in a tuxedo, but going swimming, why am I covered in bleeding, and... who am I again?+
"Keefe, I'm sorry I-I." She didn't know what to say. "Hey don't worry, let's just sleep... or..." he trailed off his voice low and it sent a shiver down her spine.
Sophie laid down on the bed and Keefe sat down next to her, "Love, you look beautiful when you sleep!"
His smirk grew wider as her face grew redder, "You look beautiful when you're half- asleep, you look even better when you're half snarky. The point is, you're my missing half!"
Sophie laughed, "You're such a goof." She pushed herself into her elbow and looked down on him.
"I really do love you, you know." She murmured. Keefe raised an eyebrow, his expression half-amused, half-incredulous. "You do?" he teased. "And here I thought you were just humoring me."
Sophie let out a contented sigh, feeling safe and secure in Keefe's arms.
Keefe smiled down at her, "You know, Foster, you really shouldn't let me cuddle you like this. I might never let you go." He traced a finger down her cheek, and she shivered, feeling a shiver of delight run through her.
Sophie laughed softly, tilting her head back to look at him. "I think I'll take my chances. Besides, you need your daily dose of affection, don't you?" She grinned up at him, teasing.
Keefe's face turned serious for a moment, and he studied her features as if committing them to memory. "You have no idea how much, Foster," he murmured. Then he leaned in and kissed her softly, his lips warm against hers. Sophie sighed into the kiss, feeling the familiar tug in her heart that always seemed to happen whenever they were together.
She stretched her arms above her head and out of the corner of her eye she saw Keefe smile. "Good night." She murmured, and she nestled her head into the crook of his neck.
