Theresia's POV:The warmth of the sun streaming through the window, gently caressing my skin, roused me from a sleep filled with the echoes of conflict. Oh, it's morning already, and my head still throbs with a dull ache.
I awaken in an unfamiliar bed. The soft glow of the morning light, the gentle rustle of the sheets and the quiet rhythm of her breathing. I find myself grappling with questions and uncertainties, wondering about the mysteries of the night before.
The Mayor is still asleep behind me, her hands resting on my waist. I turn to face her, noticing her in that cute white pajamas.
I try to carefully remove her hands from my waist to not disturb her peaceful sleep. However, she grips my left hand harder, pulling me closer to her, and I feel a warmth spread through me. Her touch is gentle yet firm, and I find myself drawn to her presence.
As she pulls me closer, our faces are just inches apart. Our noses almost touching, leaving me speechless and unsure of what to do.
At that moment, I can't help but stare at her innocent face - those cute eyes, rosy cheeks, and kissable lips.
Suddenly, she starts sniffing my neck and gives me soft kisses, causing me to whine. Is she really asleep? I pinch her nose to wake her up, then gently remove her hands from my waist and move away from the bed. I chuckle.
You're naughty, Mayor. I say, a playful smirk gracing my lips.
I notice she's also holding her nose. It seemed I pinched it a bit too hard, as it turned slightly red.
It looks like she's saying something. It sounds like a murmur, barely audible, and I can't help but feel a surge of curiosity.
I'm sorry for what happened last night, and thank you for letting me stay at your place." My voice, though sincere, trembles slightly as I look at her, a mixture of guilt and gratitude swirling within me.
In my mind, I wonder why we ended up in the same bed. Did I do something to you last night? A sense of unease creeps over me, a nagging feeling because I can't remember what I was doing."
Ah, wala ka naman pong ginawang masama, attorney. Sana nga... she murmurs, her voice barely a whisper. I can't understand her perfectly.
Bakit naman ganyan siya magsalita, hindi tinatapos. A hint of amusement in my voice. I find myself stifling a laugh, trying to maintain a composed expression despite the humor bubbling inside me
I'm really sorry, Mayor. I tend to be playful when drunk." I give her a sincere look.
It's okay, Attorney. Maybe next time, avoid getting drunk because you're not safe with me... I mean, it's not safe for you to drive," she says, her voice catching as she stutter over her words. ( Panic mode si mayora)
I can't contain my laughter. This woman is something else. She offers me to stay and have breakfast before I leave.
After eating, I say goodbye to her. I don't know what's going through my mind when I kiss her cheek. Perhaps I made her uncomfortable because she didn't react to it.
I feel a rush of shyness and quickly get into my car, driving away.
Mayor's POV:
Attorney is already awake when she suddenly turns her face towards me. I'm pretending to be asleep, but my heart is pounding like a drum solo. I can feel her gaze on me, even with my eyes closed.
As she tries to remove my hand from her waist, I hold her hand and pull her closer. I don't know what I'm thinking. I just want to hold her a little longer. The warmth of her skin against mine sends a jolt of electricity through me.
We almost kiss, our faces just inches apart. I can't resist her scent. I find myself sniffing her and kissing her neck softly, causing her to whine. The sound is like music to my ears.
she pinches my nose.
Mapanakit naman 'to. Inano niya din naman ako kagabi," making sure she can't hear what I'm saying. A mischievous grin spreads across my face.
She apologizes for what happened, even asking if she did something bad to me when she was drunk. How am I supposed to tell her? No, it would make her uncomfortable.
Ah, wala ka naman pong ginawang masama. Sana nga meron eh, kaso tinulugan mo ako," I say in murmuring tone.
She apologizes again. I'm thinking about what I said when I told her she wasn't safe with me when she was drunk. I try to avoid eye contact with her after those words, feeling shy.
So, I try to change the topic and offer her breakfast before she leaves. I'm hoping to prolong this moment, to keep her with me just a little while longer.
After breakfast, I accompany her to the gate. What shocks me is when she kisses my cheek before she leaves. I freeze before I can react, and she's already gone.
Anyari dun? Parang nothing happened. Bitin, sana next time sa lips nalang," I mutter, unable to hide my kilig when Manang intervenes.
"Mayor, hindi po ba kayo pupunta munisipyo?"
"Ay, oo nga pala, I have things to do pala in the office today," I say, my voice a bit strained. My mind is still replaying the kiss, the way her lips felt against my skin.
Fast forward: I'm in my office, but I can't focus on my work because I'm thinking about Attorney theresia. I can't help but smile whenever I think about her. The memory of her scent, her touch, her laughter, fills my senses.
"Parang ang saya natin ngayon ah," Ate Gie asks intriguingly.
"Maayos lang tulog ko kagabi, kaya good mood ako," I say in a casual tone, trying to play it cool.
"Weh! Tulog lang ba talaga yan?" she adds, giving me a curious look.
"You know what, Ate Gie, dumi ng utak mo. Bahala ka," I say firmly, but my voice betrays my nervousness.
"Gusto mo kape?" she asks.
"Oo, Ate Gie, thank you."
"Tulog pala ha? Baka hindi lang tulog ginawa niyo ni Attorney," she says before closing the door. I can feel my cheeks flushing.
Oa na naman siya," I mutter, but I can't help but agree with her.
My phone rings. Attorney has sent a message:
Good morning, Mayor. Just want to remind you the hearing is tomorrow. Be ready.
My happiness turns to nervousness. This is the first time I'm facing a hearing as Mayor, and the gravity of the situation weighs heavily on me. This issue could really ruin my reputation, and I have to clear my name. The pressure is immense, but I know I have to be strong.
