Theresia's phone rings...

"Hello, Alice. Bakit ka tumawag?" Theresia asked, trying to keep her voice steady.

On the other end, Alice responded in her usual playful tone. " Hi, Alice ka dyan!

"Can you wait for me? Nasa labas na ako ng airport."

Theresia's heart skipped a beat. She was not expecting it.

I thought she couldn't make it.

She paused and moved to the side so she wouldn't block the way. She was struggling to maintain her cool demeanor because deep inside, kinikilig siya. Her heart was so full-she was so happy.

"Love, are you still there?" Alice asked.

"Yes, bilisan mo, Alice. Pag ako naiwan ng eroplano... it's your fault." Theresia teased, trying to sound impatient, but she was clearly blushing.

"You're being annoying na naman, theresia. Ayaw mo ba akong makita? Madali naman akong kausap, uuwi talaga ako, hindi na ako tutuloy."

"Sige na, love, babe, baby, pakibilisan mo na po. I'm waiting." Theresia giggled.

Alice, out of breath, responded.

"ok, wait for me, their."

"Tatakbo ako"

Theresia could hear Alice running on the phone.

"Papasok na ako -I see you already, don't move."

Theresia glanced around, trying to find Alice amidst the crowd. "Where are you?"

Before she could figure out exactly where, the call ended.

A tap on her shoulder made her turn around. Alice was standing in front of her-eyebrows furrowed and arms crossed in mock annoyance.

"akala ko ba you couldn't make it?" Theresia asked, her lips curling into a smile.

"Hindi kita matiis. I wanted to see you before you leave. Tapos you're calling me by my name? Dapat pala hindi na ako pumunta," Alice teased.

"Shss...halika ka nga dito," Theresia said, dropping her luggage and pulling Alice into a tight embrace. She kissed Alice twice on the cheeks, a soft smile forming on her lips.

"I'll miss you... uwi ka agad," Alice's voice softened as she hugged Theresia tightly, her arms wrapping around her as if she didn't want to let go.

"Hindi pa nga nakakaalis, pinapauwi mo na ako," Theresia teased while planting another gentle kiss on Alice's cheek.

"Isang oras pa nga lang na hindi kita makita, nalulungkot na ako. Paano pa kaya kung three days?" Alice said softly, her fingers carefully adjusting the lawyer's jacket.

"Love, nakaya mo nga yung 6 years eh." she replied while chuckling.

"Sa Cebu lang punta ko. Hindi ako mag-aabroad. Umiiyak ka na naman. You're so cute." Theresia replied sarcastically, gently pinching Alice's cheeks.

Just then, the final boarding call echoed through the terminal. Time was running out, and they both knew it.

"I have to go na," Theresia said, her hands gently adjusting Alice's glasses and wiping her tears using her jacket. "Take care... drive safely. Don't forget to eat your meals."
