I couldn't help but smile when Jamie and Chris were huddled up. Jeff was clearly not pleased. In fact, Thomas even leaned in to me. "Jeff doesn't seem very happy that Jamie and Chris are so close," he said with a smirk. I returned it. "Jeff can go to-" Jeff's head snapped towards me. I straightened and made my face expressionless. Evidently, he heard me say his name. As soon as he turned around, I started shaking with laughter. Thomas was too. "Good to know you aren't a fan of him either," I said. Thomas nodded. "There's just something...off," he said. I beamed. "Exactly! Whenever I try to say something to Jamie about it, she gets defensive." He grinned. "Seems to me, Jamie is getting pretty fed up too." I glanced over. Jamie had given Jeff an annoyed look. I barely kept myself from cheering. "I hope she wakes up and dumps him soon," I said with a sigh. Thomas' eyes widened. "I just had an idea. After Jamie is finally through with Jeff, we need to get her with Chris." I gaped. "That's a wonderful idea. They would be perfect together. Opposites attract, you know." He smiled. "Funny you should say that. I didn't believe that until I met you." I let myself blush and smile. "Believe it," I breathed. Our faces were close. Suddenly I became aware that our table was awfully quiet. All of my friends, including Jamie and Chris, had stopped talking and were staring at us. "Come on, kiss already!" Amelia said. I was surprised to see Thomas blush. I smirked. "What do you think, Thornebrook? Should we k-" He cut me off by pressing his lips to mine. We kissed long and hard. When we broke away, we were both grinning like idiots. "You should come over again tonight. You know, to practice our duet one last time. We have to play for Director White tomorrow.," I said. He nodded. "I can't wait."

That night, I got ready for Thomas to come. I knew that we were only working on our project, but I still wanted to look good. I put on a sea green crop top and a matching skirt. I curled my hair and did my makeup. Jamie smirked at me. "I don't dress up this much when I go places with Jeff. All Thomas is doing is coming over to work on a project. You two aren't even dating yet!" I blushed. "What do you mean, yet?" She rolled her eyes. "Why are you still in denial? You have kissed him twice." I sighed. "I'm a mess, I know." Jamie grinned. "But I love you anyway." Just then, Thomas knocked on the door. When I opened it, he looked almost dazed. "Bella, you are gorgeous." I looked him up and down in a fake judgmental way. "You're not so bad looking yourself, Thornebrook." Jamie left to meet up with her project partner for last minute practice. We sat down on the couch and put music stands in front of us. "Let's try playing it all the way through," I said. He nodded. "Sounds good." I counted us off and we started. It went really smoothly. "We are sure to get a great grade," Thomas said. "Definitely... You know, at first I was truly dreading working with you. Now I'm glad." He smiled his perfect smile. "I am too." We ran through it a few more times then talked. When Jamie came back, she smiled and quietly crept into our room. Thomas and I had fallen asleep in each other's arms.
