We all decided to sleep in since we stayed up late working on the dictionary. When Ryoko woke us up, there was pure excitement on her face. She spoke in Draconic. Jamie's eyes widened. "Raina and Viserion invited the Grand Dragon Council here. There are 7 other caves in this area. Each has a chief and chiefess. This cave is the largest, so the Grand Dragon Council meets here. Although there are several types of dragons here, each of the other caves is purely one type. Light, shadow, water, fire, invisibility, nature, and wind. They want to discuss our situation and try to help us! We will be part of the meeting." "WHEN WILL THEY BE HERE?" I asked. Ryoko considered for a moment then said, "Hour." Suddenly, I was upright and scrambling out of bed. Jamie ran over to Lilly and Amelia's room to tell them. I quickly put on the dress that Kathy bought for me. It was a flowy halter dress with a wave pattern. I put on light blue stilettos also from Kathy. When Jamie got back, she put her dress from Kathy on. It was long and strapless. It made it look like there were flames traveling up her body. She had gotten black combat boots. She formed her wings. We did our makeup and I curled my hair. I grabbed my toothbrush. Jamie shot me a confused glance. "No time to eat," I said. She shrugged. "Fair enough." When we were done, we met Lilly and Amelia in the main hall. Both of them looked lovely. Lilly's dress was poofy, but short. It was strapless and yellow like the sun. Her golden blonde hair was up in a bun. She had a magnificent crystal tiara perched on her head. She had a matching necklace and bracelets on. She had white platforms on. Her wings and jewelry glittered in the sun. Amelia's dress was long, strapless, and tightly fitted. She had a nearly translucent shawl around her shoulders. Her shoes made me think of Cinderella's glass slippers. "You look amazing," we all said. I chuckled. "Kathy did great." Lilly nodded. "My jewelry is from my mother. It has been passed down for generations." Jamie grinned. "That's cool. I've always wanted to do something like that." Lilly smiled obscurely. I was about to question that when Ryoko ran into the room. "They here soon. You take your seats." We followed her into a room that we hadn't seen yet. There were sixteen ginormous dragon thrones. There were smaller chairs for each of us. "Thrones correlate with each dragon's magic," Ryoko said. I glanced around. The thrones for the fire dragons were swirled with red and gold. The water dragon thrones were ocean blue and sea green. The shadow thrones were purple and black. The light ones were gold and white. The wind ones were gray and white. The nature thrones were dark and light green. The invisibility thrones were completely translucent. The only two thrones that weren't the same were Viserion and Raina's. Fire for Viserion and water for Raina. Due to our awe, we didn't speak much. Soon, Raina and Viserion came in and sat down. Ryoko was standing at the doorway. I could tell she was jealous that we got to be part of the meeting. "Why still here, daughter? Supposed to be greeting our guests. Cadmus may help you. He is eager to see parents." Ryoko huffed and turned around. Viserion rolled his eyes and looked to us. "They introduce you. Please stand and bow head. Once I start meeting, stand in center of room. Jamie translate." He repeated the words in Draconic to check with Jamie. The shadow dragons were the first to arrive. Ryoko and Cadmus led them in. They both spoke in Draconic and Jamie translated. "Chief Orami and Chiefess Sarmi, take your seats. We will introduce the four young women once everyone is here." Jamie translated for Cadmus. Orami and Sarmi gracefully perched on their thrones. Ryoko and Cadmus soon returned with four dragons. Two nature and two light. Ryoko spoke this time and Jamie continued to translate. "Chief Morvar and Chiefess Bazyn of the Nature Cave." Two of the dragons peeled off and sat on their thrones. "Chief Elyps and Chiefess Saphila of the Light Cave." The next time, they came back with six dragons. Cadmus spoke in Draconic next. "Chief Raibitrld and Chiefess Seadarean of the Water Cave. Chief Valaebal and Chiefess Tiragoni of the Invisibility Cave. Chief Venti and Chiefess Aeryz of the Wind Cave." Cadmus seemed amused. "I not surprised my parents last," he said to the four of us. He and Ryoko left the room again and returned with his parents a couple minutes later. Ryoko grinned. "Chief Fafnir and Chiefess Scyllada of the Fire Cave. My soon to be in-laws are late as always." She winked at them. Scyllada nudged her husband with her wing. Jamie continued to translate for us. "She says, 'I told him we needed to leave earlier, but of course he didn't listen.'" All of the dragons chuckled. Any remaining nerves I had trickled away. All of these dragons were clearly close friends. They were professional, but relaxed. "Raina says it is time for us to be introduced," Jamie whispered. Ryoko walked over and introduced us in Draconic, "Ella Glynn, mermaid." I stood and bowed my head. "Jamie Glynn, fire dragon." She too stood and bowed her head. "Lilly Jones, light fairy." Lilly joined us. "Amelia Larken, invisibility powers." Amelia followed suit. After a moment, we all sat down. The water, fire, light, and invisibility dragons seemed thrilled. Jamie smiled at Orami and Sarmi. She spoke in Draconic. I glanced at her. "I told them my boyfriend is a shadow dragon." I nodded. Ryoko and Cadmus were standing off to the side, in the shadows. "Ryoko, Cadmus...you can leave now," Jamie translated for Viserion. The two dragons sulkily walked out of the room and shut the doors. All of the dragons chuckled again. Viserion and Raina stood. "Welcome to our cave! It is wonderful to see you all here. After the meeting, feel free to stay for Jamie's hour long English lesson. All four of them are working on making a dictionary to assist us," Jamie translated for Raina. "With those words from my beautiful wife, let the meeting begin." They sat back down. The four of us walked into the center of the room. Jamie told most of our story, but we did pitch in here and there. Once we were done, each pair conversed for a moment. Then the female raised a talon. "Sarmi," Raina said. Sarmi let loose a torrent of sounds. She seemed very excited. "She and Orami wish to help in any way they can. They would be glad to fight back against the Hybrid Hunters. They want all of the magical humans to come back to protect them from mundane hunters," Jamie summarized. Going in a circle, Viserion called on Scyllada. Her response was similar. "They too are eager to help. Anything we need, they will do without hesitation," Jamie said. Bazyn, Saphila, Seadarean, Tiragoni, and Aeryz said much of the same. The four of us discussed this for a moment then Jamie summarized it in Draconic. The meaning was, "We are working on writing a speech. We are not sure when or where, but we hope to read it to a large group of mundane people. We also don't know how much it will achieve, but we hope it will help them see our side of things. When that time comes, we will need protection. I can't think of any better protection than dragons. The invisibility dragons can hide all of you until it is necessary to interfere." Viserion cleared his throat. Jamie translated, "All in favor of helping protect them in this way..." Every dragon raised a talon. Amelia, Lilly, Jamie, and I grinned at each other. We talked again then Jamie brought up the next point. "We also wish to make sure our friends and their families are alive and well. If invisibility dragons could travel to the Thornebrook's beach house and check up on them every now and then, it would be much appreciated. Two or three of them would suffice." Raina glanced at Valaebal and Tiragoni, who both nodded. Tiragoni spoke. "She said that the magical humans have helped them fend off Mundanes for centuries and that it is time the dragons return the favor," Jamie said. We shared a smile and talked to each other again. "We also request that small groups of dragons spy on the Hybrid Hunters. Obviously invisibility dragons would be necessary, but any others willing to help are welcome to," Jamie said in Draconic. Viserion called for another vote. Once again, all of the dragons raised a talon. "Thank you all for listening to us. That is all we can think of for now. We deeply appreciate your help," Jamie said in Draconic. Raina spoke and Jamie translated. "If you wish, Cadmus and my daughter will either show you out or to the room where Jamie gives her English lessons." Raina smiled obscurely. "Ryoko and Cadmus were supposed to return to their rooms, but instead they are right outside trying to listen in. Come in children," Jamie translated. The door opened. Ryoko and Cadmus stood there guiltily. All of the older dragons laughed again. "Mother, how did you know?" Jamie said for Ryoko. Raina winked. "I have my ways." Fafnir and Scyllada shook their heads. "We apologize for our son's behavior," Fafnir said with a smirk. Saphila smiled. "It is to be expected of such young ones," Jamie translated. Lilly smiled at the gorgeous light dragon. "How old are you?" She asked. Jamie translated. Her eyes widened when Saphila responded. "She's four hundred years old!" Saphila said something else. Jamie smiled and added, "Give or take twenty years." With that, all sixteen of the dragons followed Ryoko and Cadmus to the room Jamie taught in. She looked at us. "I have fourteen extra students today. I better get to work. She flew after the dragons.
