I woke up curled together with Amelia. We had pushed the two beds together like Jamie and Ella did. I brushed her hair out of her face and kissed her forehead. I looked at her with such love. She woke up and looked at me. "Good morning," she whispered. I smiled. "Good morning." She sat up and stretched. "I'm going to get breakfast." I nodded. "I'll be right there." Once she was gone, I sighed. I couldn't shake the feeling that there would be a fight. A bad one. Bad enough that we might not all survive. So I was making preparations. I took out a piece of paper and a pen and started writing. The words flowed out of me. I folded it up, put it in an envelope and sealed it. On it I wrote Jamie, Ella, and Amelia. Don't open until it is time. You will know when it is time. If anything happened to me, I wanted them to know some things. I wanted them to know how much I cared about them. I wanted them to know how much the HFA meant to me. I wanted them to know that, if I died, it was worth it. Amelia walked into the room. When she saw my tears, she ran over. "Lilly, baby, what's wrong?" I held up the envelope and explained what I had done. She leaned her head on my shoulder. "I think it's a great idea. I'll write one too. She did so. I resisted the urge to read it as she wrote. She stood up. "Are you ready to join me for breakfast?" I hesitated. "Just in a moment, I promise." I grabbed the bag that I had summoned here. I pulled the final item out of it. I opened the small box. I sat there and admired the diamond ring.
