The siphon glared up at the ceiling as her body was sprawled across the bed, touching her fingers to her thumb rhythmically as she gave each thought in her mind time to take the stage. A few that stuck out were: Should I leave? Is staying worth it? Should I take my chances and try and turn? Should I kill myself?
Once thoughts like that entered her mind, she had to pinch herself to remind herself of the reality of her situation; Ultimately, she had no control anymore -- she never did really to begin with -- but at least she had freedom. Now, everything was preordained, pre-planned. And messy. Very, very messy.
Luna was accustomed to her life being messy in every aspect, but at least before she had the chance of fixing it or changing the mess. Her vulnerable state ensured that she was helpless and had to rely on others to keep her alive -- she hated that too.
Elijah and Rebekah hesitantly returned to the Mikaelson Compound. The pair of them seemed particularly cold towards the girl, probably because of her choice to stick by Niklaus' side. Of course, her choice was futile as it blew up in her face regardless, the explosion taking a part of her with it. She didn't mind the solitude, the silence. She was no stranger to the sensation of loneliness.
The door opened from behind her, but she didn't sit up to see who was at the door, 'Luna?' Klaus' voice called out as the door closed behind him, 'What're you doing?' He asked cautiously as he approached her slowly.
'Having a mid-life crisis.' She said shortly.
Klaus frowned as he watched her chest move up and down, and as her pads of her fingers connected with her thumbs, 'I think it's a bit late for a mid-life-'
She cut him off quickly, 'Okay, then an existential one.'
'I'm struggling to find the difference.'
'And I'm struggling to find your point. What do you want?' Luna snapped, closing her eyes as if she could feel a headache coming on.
He sighed deeply as he attempted to gather himself, realising he was in over his head going into this conversation thinking he could reason with her. Luna was stubborn and she knew how to hold a grudge, the 90 years they spent apart proved his point very well. But he knew he was in the wrong, he just refused to speak it into existence.
Klaus laid down on the bed beside her, looking at her face whilst her eyes remained on the ceiling, 'I've been thinking a lot, about every-' He began.
'That's a first.'
'Will you let me speak?' He snapped as gently as he could. She sighed, a silent gesture for him to continue, 'And I know I'm wrong. And I was wrong to bring you here. I understand why it's hard for you to even be in this room, I do. I might've acted selfishly, but I did it for us. I know you don't like to hear it, but I did it anyways.'
'And...?'
Klaus groaned and spared the ceiling a glance as he rolled his eyes, 'And I'm sorry.'
Luna couldn't help but laugh, 'See? That wasn't so hard was it?'
