'Darling, you've outdone yourself,' Klaus sauntered into the ballroom, his hands behind his back as he looked between Finn's bruised and beaten body and Luna's joyful expression as she sat on a table adjacent to the witch. She raised her glass, filled to the brim with blood as a thank you. Klaus stood in front of her, revealing the roll of torture implements behind his back as he addressed Finn head-on, 'Do you think our mother is even the least bit concerned for your well-being?'
He revealed the weapons contained, taking a large knife in his hands and Luna couldn't fight the smile that crept up on her face. Klaus tested its sharpness mockingly, raising a brow in his brother's direction, 'She knows I don't need rescuing.' Finn spoke gravelly, his voice weak and arms limp from the blood loss.
'Wouldn't put all your eggs in that basket.' Luna spoke sardonically, a tight-lipped smile on her face as she rested her elbows on her knees, the palm of her hand cupping her chin.
Klaus hummed as he held up the knife for Finn to look at. The hybrid looked at his brother expectantly, awaiting his input on the torture method, but the eldest brother remained stoic through his pain. Blood trickled down his neck and hundred-year-old manacles restrained his wrists, and he refused to cave. Klaus looked over at Luna, who scrunched up her nose in boredom, bringing the crimson liquid to her lips. He shrugged, putting the knife down in favour of another apart of his assortment.
'You can toy with me all you want, Niklaus -- so can your whore --' Finn spat angrily, aware of the pain she had caused him and retaliating in the only way he could. Luna smiled menacingly, flicking her hair behind her back and pushing her chest out to prove his point -- but she would do so on her own terms, 'but you've both had innumerable opportunities to kill me.'
Klaus wasn't going to tolerate the blatant disrespect, crouching down in front of him and pushing a sharp tool into his neck, applying just enough pressure to barely break through the skin, 'But we haven't, yet. But if you keep up with being a smart mouth,' He seethed, pushing the tool into Finn's neck until he forced a reaction out of him, 'Who knows how long you have left?'
Finn smiles weakly, rage swimming in his eyes as he searched for an opportunity to escape, 'Finn, I understand your devotion to her. She must have clung to you with desperate need after our sister Freya died, making you believe it was your responsibility to care for her,' Klaus drew away from him slowly, making an effort to offer some semblance of reassurance through his words, 'Always and Forever?' Klaus hummed with raised brows.
'A burden which you accepted without question, because you were a good son. Small children lack the capacity to question their parents, but you're a man now, Finn.' Klaus words struck Luna more ferociously than expected and she reflected on what she was doing, torturing Finn for her own enjoyment, forgetting about the greater reason for their actions.
'Is that the extent of your argument?' Finn's gaze hardened on Luna, as if he had caught the shift in her countenance and demeanour. Luna quickly gathered herself, throwing on an impenetrable poker-face and Finn's eyeline moved over to his brother, 'I'm a man now, so I should join your wretched cause?'
