Flashback;

The floorboards creaked quietly as Luna tiptoed down the stairs barefoot in nothing more than a night dress and the distorted moonlight flooding in through the windows. Each step was made meticulously to draw as little attention as possible. Her eyes were bloodshot, her tears hitting the floor leaving a morbid trail behind her as she darted for the medicine cabinet.

She twisted the key that her father never removed from its place, going into the cabinet blind. Her eyes had glossed over and her judgment was clouded and it meant that any bottle she could get her hands on was in her grasp. With shaky hands, she placed down the two bottles and reached in for more. Among the chaos and turmoil in her mind, the outside world was muted to her.

The only thing she could hear was a violent gust of thoughts that had already knocked her to her knees. The aggression of her own mind making her blind to the shadow slowly encroaching behind her. The glass bottle of medicine almost slipped out of her hands when she was spun around. She gasped quietly at the sight of her brother, remaining frozen like a deer caught in the headlights as Stefan's eyes surveyed the surroundings. She could see the moment he had pieced it together.

Frown lines appeared on his forehead before his expression softened. He wrapped his fingers around the bottle in his sister's hand, tugging it towards himself gently. His attempts to remove it from Luna's reach grew more vigorous the more she resisted, her small hands refusing to give up her death sentence.

'Luna,' He started, far louder than he expected. He paused instantly, waiting to hear a door creak open or for a heavy pair of footsteps to make their way down the stairs, 'Go.' He mouthed, finally snatching the medicine from her clutch.

The blonde remained unmoving momentarily, staring deep into her brothers eyes as she fought to keep her tears at bay. Luna stepped the the side, giving her brother access to the cabinet. She paused and looked up at him, the final parting glance they shared was nothing less than an apology from the girl.

He began packing away what his sister had undone, the bottles clinking against one another as he rushed to speak with his sister. The cabinet door slowly creaked shut and once the key clicked back into it original position:

He heard the door slam.

Horror flooded his expression, adrenaline pumping through his veins in the few lunges he made to the front door. Upon swinging it open, he was welcomed by the view of his sister sprinting. Sprinting as if the ground had opened up and the Devil had come up to chase her down. His heart sunk as he watched his sister retreated into the darkness of the forest.

And that was the last time either of the Salvatore's saw their youngest sister ever again.

————————

Luna had been elected to join Damon on his endeavour to the Grill, joined by his alcoholic friend and fake girlfriend. It didn't take Luna long to realise that she served no purpose joining her brother, only hiding it under the visage of being reunited after a century and change, "Other than your lecture on the history of Mystic Falls, get anything out of Elijah?" Damon questioned, a glass of bourbon fixed in his right hand.
