"bad things happen to the people you love"

It had been a day or two since Klaus had died, and Luna didn't leave the room she claimed for herself in the Mikaelson home. She wouldn't even go for blood, causing her face to grow pale and prominent dark circles to appear below her icy blue eyes - which were now puffy and red from crying.

She'd spelt the room with the last of the energy she could muster amidst the numbness she was slowly succumbing to. She viewed her surroundings through a dull lens and didn't move when someone knocked on the door.

"Luna, please let me in." Rebekah pleaded from the other side of the door, but Luna continued ignoring her. She shouldn't have expected Rebekah to take her silence as an answer; Luna listened to her best friends heart thumping, muffled through the door separating them.

Luna weakly waved her hand, the door opened slightly. Slowly, Rebekah stepped into the room, only to see Luna curled up on her bed. Luna turned over when she felt a dip in the bed, "Luna, you can't lock yourself up and isolate yourself. It won't bring him back." Rebekah started quietly.

Luna only played with her blonde locks which haven't been brushed in days, "I know." She muttered, her gaze never meeting Rebekah's.

"You're allowed to mourn him. It doesn't make you weak, you need to ignore your subconscious." Luna thought about her words, she did have to ignore it. She didn't even know where the mindset that crying around other made her weak. But it wasn't something she could let go of so quickly.

Crying lead to vulnerability, vulnerability lead to be being taken advantage of and being taken advantage of lead to manipulation and then death; that was how Luna thought anyways.

Before Luna could understand what was happening, Rebekah had dragged her out of bed, "Rebekah-"

"Luna, you need to see something else other then these four walls. I know you're hurting, and so am I, but you can't keep yourself locked up in here." Rebekah ordered.

Luna decided to change the subject, "I'm supposed to be dead," Luna mumbled, making the Original furrow her brows in confusion and worry, "Nik's blood turned me. I'm supposed to be dead."

And there is was again, that short, simple nickname which signified so much. Rebekah smiled softly when she heard the nickname slip out of her mouth, but she chose to ignore it for now, "I don't know why you're alive, but I'm glad you are."

"I'm starting to think I'd be better of dead." Luna whispered, her voice barely above a whisper. But Rebekah caught the remark, thanks to her magnified hearing.

"Luna, listen. You're going to get dressed, pack your things and we're gonna leave, okay? Go where ever we want. Because we deserve a break." Rebekah stated, placing her hands on Luna's shoulders gently. Luna only nodded as she thought about when Niklaus had told her to pack her things and be ready to go.
