Luna was born on January 14th, 1847, and met Niklaus on April 19th, 1864. Once taken in by the family, Luna had only learned to live in the company of the Mikaelson's. She was shown what it meant to be a part of a family and to be valued. Then, on August 23rd 1867, Luna was turned into a heretic. Blessed, or cursed, with the abilities of a vampire intertwined with magic that knew no bounds.

This power is coveted and sought out by many. A heretic defies the laws of nature and is a unique and unparalleled creature, and she hated it. She hated looking at herself in the mirror, she hated feeding on innocent people. She hated she would never have a chance to grow old or start a family. She had lived so little as her time as a human, done nothing, seen nothing; Then suddenly unprecedented power was bestowed on her.

The feeling of resentment she felt towards herself subsided over time, and she grew to accept that she was not an abomination, but that she was a force of nature; the title only given to suppress those who were threatened. She began to accept that she was now immortal and she wouldn't be able to complete the human experience. Instead, a new one took it's place.

Luna never considered herself as maternal, but her duty to be a mother was drilled into her head since she was a young girl, becoming a vampire stripped her of that duty. When her vampirism was taken from her, everything that was taken was suddenly saddled on her shoulders again; and becoming a mother was the last thing she thought would happen.

She recalled how she felt when she first found out, once Rebekah had left and it was just her and her baby and nobody else in the world. And how through all that fear she felt, excitement managed to trudge it's way through the avalanche of horror that took over after seeing those pink lines.

The whole car journey she was trying to recapture that excitement, but she was terrified. Her leg bounced up and down uncontrollably, she picked at her fingernails until she drew blood and looked over at Klaus regularly, only to hear his heart beating at a steady pace, calmly driving down the isolated roads in the dead of night, 'Why aren't you freaking out?'

'One of us has to stay calm,' He answered, smiling at her softly before turning back to the road, 'Or at least pretend to.' Luna forced her lips into a weak smile at his words, her restlessness only growing with each mile that went by.

He placed his hand on her thigh, feeling his fingertips graze her leg and trace patterns reassuringly was enough for her to feel comfort, even for a moment, 'There's a hundred different things for us to be afraid of, but something's eating you alive. I can tell.'

Luna looked down at her lap and his hand resting on her thigh, almost shamefully, 'Honestly? No judgement?' Klaus raised his brows at her words before nodding, his eyes knitting in confusion. She drew in a deep breath, 'I'm terrified that I'm a terrible mother, and that she'd be better off without knowing me,' She paused for a moment, looking up at the open road before speaking again, 'Out of all the things that I've said, done, or thought -- that one's the worst.'
