The white oak stake twirled in Klaus' fingers as he and Luna stood at the threshold of Davina's cabin, where she lay inside, passed out on the floor. A man, probably in his mid-twenties, was tending to the girl. His attention quickly shifted to the pair, his eyes flicking over Luna momentarily before boring into Klaus, 'Oh. Hello, darling. Back to huff and puff and blow the house down?'

Klaus rolled his eyes, unamused at the grin playing on his lips. The heretic's scepticism grew at his words. The way the stranger carried himself, the wittiness and how unbothered he was to face an Original, 'You know, it's funny how often a person's sharp tongue can end up cutting their own throat.' Klaus seethed.

'Relax,' Luna sighed in frustration, 'He obviously doesn't have a social filter.' She turned to look at the man, a sense of familiarity rising through her each time the pair locked eyes for a moment that she couldn't shake.

His eyes narrowed in contemplation, 'Yeah, she's right. You know, you may want to try a bit of lavender under your pillow. Does wonders for stuck-up pillocks with anger issues.'

Luna bit her lip to keep herself from laughing, 'I promised not to kill Davina. I said nothing of this insolent sod.'

She muttered a quiet 'okay' before pulling Klaus away from the man, not removing his eyes from the boy in the doorway until Luna stood in front of him, 'You didn't kill your father, the guy you hate the most, I think you can hold back on killing a kid.'

He rolled his eyes and groaned, looking between the cabin and the girl in front of him, 'When did you grow a heart?' He muttered sarcastically.

'Whatever.' Luna's face pinched up at his comment, only amusing him. His face dropped quickly when Luna held her hand out for the stake and keys.

He sighed, reluctantly placing the indestructible stake in her palm along with the keys to the car, 'Get the car. We'll take her to the hospital.'

Luna smiled playfully, placing a quick kiss on his cheek before heading off the get the car. She stuffed the stake into her waistband and unlocked the car. Once she looked up, she saw the doors swung open and the trunk where Mikael's unconscious body resided was wide open. She cautiously looked around the dark abyss closing in around her and focused her hearing for any snapping twig or the crunch of a leaf.

A hand covered her mouth, the other wrapping around her neck to put her in a headlock, 'It's better you don't fight back. You'll only make it infinitely harder for yourself.' A voice that was far to familiar breathed into her ear.

She gripped his forearm, beginning to siphon from him. The Original hissed, his clutch on her loosening enough for Luna to throw her head back to head-butt him. He stumbled back a few inches, 'You didn't think I'd go down without a fight?' Luna turned around, inching back slightly and assuming a position, prepared to fight him.

Being older, he was stronger -- quicker. Despite his weakened state, he was still able to overpower her. His hands wrapped around her neck and her back slammed against the hood of the car, 'If I had killed you a century ago, I would have to deal with you now.' He spoke through gritted teeth.
