Flashback from the end of the last chapter:
There was almost silence on the way, you could only hear baby Judith making some noises and Sophie and Carl talking something while Abraham and Rosita walked directly behind Carl and Sophie and the others walked in front of them and beside them and behind them. Now:
After a short while, the group came to a small white church in the middle of the forest, whereupon the group went there. Gabriel then went straight to the front door, but was then interrupted by Rick. "Just a minute, can we look around first?" Rick said seriously as he looked at Gabriel, who was standing in front of the door, before Rick went over to Gabriel and held out his hand as a sign that Gabriel should give Rick the key. Directly behind Rick was Michonne and the others were all close by and not very far away. Gabriel then gave Rick the key, opened the door and went in with Daryl, while Rick had his rifle and Daryl had his crossbow, whereupon Glenn and Michonne also went in with their weapons drawn, while the rest plus Gabriel waited outside. "I spent months here without stepping foot outside the door and I would have been surprised if you had found someone in there," said Gabriel as Rick, Glenn, Daryl and Michonne came out of the church again while Rick gave Gabriel the key back. "Thanks for that," said Carl with a smile that the group could stay there, to which Gabriel nodded with a smile. "Hey, there's a small bus behind the church, it doesn't work but we could get it running in a day or two," said Abraham, who looked around outside and came back to the others. "You understand what's at stake," Abraham continued as he looked seriously at Rick, who after a short silence replied that he knew what was at stake. "Can we take a breather now?" Then came Michonne, who looked at Abraham and Rick, but there was a hint of annoyance in her voice as she looked at the two of them. "The more often we take a breather, the slower we get," then came Abraham, but Michonne said that they needed supplies, to which Rick agreed before he, Carl, Michonne and Carl went into the church."Hey, the bus isn't taking us away," came from Daryl as he looked at Abraham, before Daryl looked at Rosita who was standing with Sophie. "I'll bring you something to eat and some water," came from Daryl as he looked at Rosita and Sophie, his expression changing to a slightly worried one, whereupon Rosita nodded. Daryl then went in as well and Glenn suddenly turned to Abraham. "Either way, we'll do what Rick says and we won't split up again," came from Glenn in a serious but understanding tone as he looked at Abraham, before Glenn also went into the church, but his words made Abraham think. Then Tara went in and told Abraham that she saw it the same way as Glenn, then Bob, who saw it the same way as Tara and told Abraham the same thing, before Bob went in with Sasha, which made Abraham think even more. Abraham then looked briefly at Rosita and Sophie before saying something because he had had something on his mind ever since they saw Sophie again after Terminus. "Hey Sophie, darling, are you going in with the others too?" came the gentle question from Abraham as he looked down at Sophie. "Why?" came the curious question from Sophie as she looked at her father. "Because I want to talk to Mom for a minute, right?" came the gentle question from Abraham as he explained to Sophie why she should please come in, whereupon Sophie didn't think anything of it and went in with the others.Rosita then looked at Abraham and waited for him to speak and she wanted to know what was going on. "Well, I've been thinking about it since Daryl brought Sophie back and I'm still thinking about it," Abraham said seriously but also a little uncertainly as he looked at Rosita who was listening attentively and patiently. "About what?" Rosita then asked cautiously as she had a feeling that she wouldn't like what he was about to say."You know that Sophie won't have the childhood we wanted and that she won't have a normal childhood because of all this shit?" Abraham began, to which Rosita gave him a nod as confirmation that she knew that Sophie wouldn't have a normal childhood. "And after what happened in Terminus, we were separated from her and she was locked up, I thought, and now please let me finish before you say anything, I think it might not be such a bad idea if we teach her how to use a weapon, so she could at least defend herself," Abraham continued and explained to Rosita what he had been thinking about since Sophie was back and everyone was out of Terminus. Rosita didn't say anything at first and thought for a moment about what Abraham had just said and after a moment Rosita decided to speak up."You're right in a way, she has to be able to protect herself if something like that ever happens again, but do you think she'll be able to cope? She's only 6... and I don't like the idea of her walking around with a weapon," Rosita said thoughtfully but rather very worriedly, looking into the church where the two could see Sophie talking to Carl while he held Judith.
"Me neither, but what else should we do? She has to defend herself if she's alone again..." Abraham said thoughtfully, to which Rosita agreed after a few moments. "Fine, if I have to, I'll talk to her about it later," Rosita said seriously but still worriedly. Abraham looked at her and pulled her into a hug. "I'm coming with you, you don't have to do this alone, okay? We'll do this together," Abraham said as he kissed Rosita's forehead, whereupon she smiled and nodded because she was relieved that Abraham was helping her to explain the gun to Sophie in this situation. "Thank you," Rosita murmured during the hug and kissed Abraham on the mouth, who returned it. "Not for that," Abraham said gently as he broke away from the kiss and held Rosita in his arms for a moment before he let go of her and pulled away. "We should go in too," Rosita said as she pulled away. Abraham nodded in agreement, so the two of them went in after all, even though they didn't really want to go in.
