Flashback from the end of the last chapter:
"Yes...but she's only 6, Abraham, 6..." Rosita continued as she looked at Abraham."I know...but we talked about Sophie not having the childhood we wanted, but that's the only way Sophie will be safe, what if we're separated again? She can then defend herself in an emergency, Rosita," Abraham continued and tried to convince Rosita that Sophie should get her own weapon. After a few minutes, Rosita agreed because she wants her daughter to be safe after all."Where is Sasha, anyway?" Carol suddenly asked when she saw that Sasha was no longer in the room. "Bob has disappeared too," Daryl said skeptically, noticing that Bob was also missing. Something is seriously wrong here.
Now:
"I'll go outside and see if I can find anything." Daryl got serious as he ran to the church exit, whereupon Carol went with him and the two were now outside but didn't come back for a while. Some time later, Sasha was outside with her rifle and looked around after she noticed that Bob had disappeared, but it was rather difficult to see anything as it had been dark for a long time. Suddenly Sasha turned around when she heard a rustling nearby and then picked up her sniper rifle and looked through the visor as it had a night vision function. When Sasha looked through it, she saw a person running away and then out of sight. Nevertheless, Sasha continued to look around with the visor in case there were more people nearby. Sasha then shot because there was a walker right in front of her and next to her as well, but Sasha hit the one next to her in the skull with the rifle. Sasha breathed a sigh of relief when she suddenly felt a hand on her shoulder. "It's me!" It came from Tyresse, who had previously searched for Sasha with Rick. "Tyresse..." came Sasha's relief as Rick looked around with his gun.
"The guy is escaping" came Sasha's serious reply as she looked at Rick, who immediately asked who was escaping. "Someone was watching us" Sasha explained."If we run after him now, we're definitely not going to get out of this unscathed," said Tyresse rather thoughtfully while Sasha looked in the direction the man was running in and both Tyresse and Rick watched Sasha's gaze. "Bob is out there somewhere, alone and scared," said Sasha, worried but also serious. After that there was a brief moment of silence until Rick said something. "Carol and Daryl are gone too," said Rick seriously, whereupon Tyresse, Sasha and Rick went back into the church where the rest were. "What are you going to do with us?" said Sasha as she approached Gabriel, who then looked at her. "It's all connected. They show up and we're being watched, and on top of that, three of us have disappeared," said Sasha quietly and seriously but still angry as she looked at Gabriel. Gabriel looked at her in surprise for a moment and after a few seconds he tried to find an answer. I...I...I have...nothing to do with it," Gabriel said nervously as he stuttered while looking at Sasha, Tyresse and Rick. Sasha then pulled out a knife while Gabriel mumbled something that was incomprehensible and Tyresse told her to put the knife away. "No!" Rosita shouted loudly as she walked over at a fast pace but Abraham ran after her and held Rosita by the arm who gave him a quick angry look before turning her attention back to what was happening. Sophie watched anxiously as Sasha held the knife
but Carl put a reassuring hand on her shoulder and tried to distract her, which luckily worked although Carl himself was unsure whether it would escalate or not and Carl listened attentively while he distracted Sophie from the situation."Who's out there?" came Sasha's serious but also threatening tone, to which Gabriel replied that he had nothing to do with it and so asked Sasha where it was in the same threatening tone. "Where are our people!?" Sasha suddenly shouted angrily while Rick gently pushed her towards Tyresse, whereupon Sophie looked again and became afraid. "Hey, everything's fine," came Carl's gentle reply as he pulled Sophie into a hug and told her that everything was fine, whereupon Sophie cautiously nodded into the hug. Rick turned to Gabriel and looked at him before saying anything. "Why did you bring us here?" Rick said skeptically but also coldly and seriously as he looked at Gabriel before Rick asked if Gabriel was working with anyone, which Gabriel denied as he was always "alone". "You will burn for that," Rick quoted as he continued to look at Gabriel. "That was directed at you but why, what should you burn for, Gabriel," Rick added as he continued to look at Gabriel seriously but also threateningly. "What have you done?!" Rick shouted, whereupon Gabriel explained that his community had come at night because they were looking for a safe place, although he always locked the doors at night, and when it was early they hammered on the door, trying to get in until the dead came too. "Women, children," Gabriel continued and at the word "children" looked in the direction where Carl was with Sophie. Then he looked back at Rick again before Gabriel continued.
"The whole family called my name and were yelled at," Gabriel continued nervously and with tears in his eyes. Meanwhile, Sophie suddenly went to the window by the front door while Gabriel continued to explain and everyone listened to him except Carl, who watched Sophie look at the window. Sophie went out and noticed that someone was lying there."Mom, dad" came suddenly from Sophie, whereupon Abraham and Rosita looked at Sophie and were briefly confused as to what Sophie wanted. "What?" came from Abraham as he looked at Sophie and now all eyes were on Sophie for a moment as they waited for an answer from the little girl."There's something outside," Sophie explained as she looked at Abraham and then looked out the window again. "Do you recognize something?" came Abraham suspiciously, to which Sophie nodded in confirmation. "Yes, there... there's someone lying in the grass..." came Sophie's answer, whereupon Sasha immediately ran out and ran after Rick while Sophie went with her, which Rosita did as well. "Bob, bob!" Sasha screamed as she ran out and saw Bob lying unconscious on the ground in the grass while the others came out too. "His leg..." came from Maggie when she saw that Bob was missing a leg and had a bloody bandage around the stump.
"H..his leg is g..gone..." Sophie said, frightened and shocked, when she saw it too, whereupon Rosita pulled Sophie straight to her and hugged her. "Don't look," Rosita said worriedly as she pulled Sophie to her, who was muttering something to herself out of fear."Bring Bob in, we'll take care of them!" Glenn said as he killed one of the walkers with his gun by smashing his head in. Tara and Sasha brought Bob in together while the others "took care" of the walkers. After a short while, almost all of the walkers were defeated and Tyresse had the last walkers. Maggie killed the walker that was with her with her knife while Tyresse wanted to shoot the one that was with him because his knife was in the kitchen, but just as he was about to pull the trigger, the gun fell and he tried to push the walker away. Rick and Glenn wanted to help but more walkers came so the two of them took care of them because there was no other option. Sophie, who was with Rosita, ran to Tyresse because she wanted to help him even though she was scared. The 6 years old Sophie took the gun and aimed at the walker's head like she had learned from Abraham and Rosita and then pulled the trigger and shot the walker in the head, which immediately fell to the ground, whereupon Tyresse looked at her in shock, which the others did too because they didn't know that Abraham and Rosita had shown her how to use the gun. "Thanks..." came Tyresse's surprise but also shock when he saw Sophie with the gun in her hand, whereupon Maggie also looked at her in surprise. Sophie turned to Rosita, who had come to Sophie. "Mom, I helped Tyresse," came Sophie, who was surprised at herself for actually having managed it.Rosita breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that her daughter was OK. "Yes, you did well," Rosita began while looking at her daughter with a smile. Then Rosita took the gun from her daughter and gave it to Tyresse, who took it. "More of them," came Glenn's sudden reply as he saw more walkers from afar. Rick sent the others in, who then went in as well, while Rick shot at the walkers but then also went back into the church.
