Flashback from the end of the last chapter:
Abraham then closed the car door and both of them made their way inside the building where their old friend Mike Milton was supposed to be.
Now:
When the two were there, they looked for him and found him quite quickly where Rosita knocked, whereupon both were asked to come in and both then went in, whereupon Abraham closed the door behind him. Mike was just talking to one of his superiors who was saying goodbye to Mike and wanted to leave.
"Ford, espinosa" came from the superior with a nod while he greeted Rosita and Abraham. Rosita and Abraham also greeted him and shortly afterwards he left the room, whereupon Mike, Rosita and Abraham were now alone with him. "Rosita, Abraham, did you get it out of town?" Mike was a little surprised, but at the same time he was relieved because he now knew that his friends were fine.
Rosita nodded. "Yes, but it was also more like luck, you could say we were just damn lucky that we got out of there," Rosita said in a serious tone. "But what's actually going on? Do you know what the hell is going on here?
I mean dead people suddenly get up, stupid dead people get up again and there is pure chaos in the city. Roadblocks have been set up and some are shooting around without consideration." Rosita then continued while looking at Mike.
"I have no real idea what's going on here, the only thing I know is that it's important to protect as many people as possible right now," he answers the question honestly and seriously. The three of them talked about the situation for a while and after a while Sophie woke up and looked around because she didn't know what was going on or where she was."Okay, then it's settled, you get on your way as quickly as possible, you can take a vehicle and enough provisions," he explained and looked alternately between the two, first at Abraham and then at Rosita. Neither of the two had a specific question so the superior sent the two of them on their way and he then left the room while Rosita and Abraham said goodbye to Mike and told him that he should get out of here alive no matter what else happens. "Of course, I promise," he said with a smile, but he still meant it seriously. Then they were both a little relieved. "Hey, I'm going to get the car and the money plus provisions, can you get the things out of the car?" It came from Abraham when he turned to Sophie and Rosita.
"Yes, of course," Rosita then answered him, whereupon Abraham gave her a quick kiss and then before he went to the door, but he turned around again briefly. "You're helping them both," Abraham said seriously as he turned to the man they were supposed to take to Washington. "Uh, yeah, OK," the man said, a little unsure and confused because he somehow hadn't expected that.
"Good, I don't want to hear any complaints, understand?" It came from Abraham in the same tone, whereupon the man nodded while Mile went to Abraham because he wanted to help him with charging the vehicle. Rosita set off with Sophie and the man followed them.
"Mom, is the man coming with us now?" Sophie asked as she walked off with Rosita and looked at her. Rosita looked at the man behind them for a moment and then looked down at her ship next to her before the answer. "Yes, darling, he's coming with us so he'll accompany us for a while because we're going to take him to Washington, that's a place further away," she explained to Sophie calmly and gently as they walked to the car. There was silence for a moment until Rosita decided to say something again.
"Do you have a name or something? We have to be able to address you somehow," Rosita finally said as she turned to the man. The man nodded before answering. "Eugene, Eugene porter" he then replied, whereupon Rosita nodded and sophie looked at Rosita. "And you?" He now asked the question what their names are. "I'm Rosita, this is Sophie," Rosita explained shortly after a moment's hesitation, whereupon he simply said "OK".When they got to the car, Rosita unlocked the car and went to the trunk where she opened the door and gave Eugene the two bags that Abraham had packed before they left home. Eugene then accepted the bags while Rosita gave Sophie her small backpack that was in the car from the day before and Sophie put it on while Rosita closed the door of the trunk and went a little further forward and opened the back door. After Rosita opened the door, she leaned forward a little and unbuckled Sophie's child seat and then closed this door as well. Afterwards Rosita went to the front and looked to see if she needed anything else from the glove compartment and packed it up and then closed this door and then locked the car again before she and Sophie and Eugene went to Abraham and Mine. When the 3 arrived, Abraham and Mike loaded the last things into the vehicle and it turned out that the two of them had decided on a military truck or vehicle. "There you are," Mike said as he gave the last things to Abraham and saw the three of them out of the corner of his eye as they came along. "We have everything, the bags, child seat and the rest," Rosita explained as she walked towards the two while Sophie followed her, which Eugene did the same. Mike took Eugene's things and then loaded them up while Abraham took Sophie's backpack and packed it with the other things.
"Hey, did everything go well?" Abraham asked seriously and in a worried tone as he looked at Rosita who was standing with Mike and Rosita turned to Abraham when she heard his question. "Yes, everything's fine, don't worry," she answered his question, whereupon Abraham nodded in relief while he took the child seat from Rosita and put Ohn in the vehicle and fastened it properly so that Sophie could drive with him without any problems and then went back to the others.Rosite talked to Mike for a moment, but it was more about Mike taking care, and Mike told him that Abraham and Rosita should take care of themselves and especially Sophie, which they both confirmed that they would definitely do, which made Mike relieved . The 3 talked for a moment while Rosita checked whether everything was in the truck when Rosita suddenly turned in another direction with a rather surprised expression on her face because she heard something because suddenly there were noises from outside. Shortly afterwards, Eugene speaks up.
"Do you hear that too?" Eugene asked nervously but also seriously while looking at Mike, Rosita and Abraham. "Yeah, I just heard it too, what the hell is that?" Rosita answered Eugene's question while she also asked one at the end. "I'm going to go see what's going on," Abraham suddenly said, but was interrupted by Mike. "I'm coming with you," Mike said as he interrupted Abraham, watching him as he spoke.
Abraham thought for a moment until he finally agreed. "Let's go then," came Abraham and Mike nodded before the two of them went outside to see what was actually going on and what was causing this noise.
