Flashback from the end of the last chapter:
"Adrian...?" Rosita asked, shocked but confused when she saw the boy standing there. "Rosita..." came the confused reply from the boy. Then Daryl put down the crossbow when he saw that the boy seemed to be okay because Rosita knew the boy, who turned out to be Adrian.
Now: "
Damn..." Rosita said in a quieter tone as she walked towards Adrian and pulled him into a hug, which he returned after a moment. After a few seconds the two broke their embrace, and Adrian was the first to speak. "Rosita, but... but how? Shortly after the soldiers started shooting, I went to your house and you weren't there, neither you nor Abraham or Sophie, so what?" Adrian said, upset but still in a more or less calm tone. Rosita looked at Adrian for a moment and thought about how she should explain it to him. "We were already gone by then, Abraham and I grabbed Sophie and got out of town as quickly as we could and then drove to the military," Rosita explained calmly while she looked at Adrian who nodded because it finally made sense why he and Rosita were seeing each other again after all these years. "Ah, that makes sense. I'm glad you survived, wait, Sophie isn't with you, is she..." Adrian then said, breaking off at the end of his sentence and looking at Rosita, who was immediately able to reassure him of Adrian's worries about Sophie. "No, no, she's alive, she's just... injured," Rosita then explained, becoming quieter at the end but Adrian understood it nonetheless. "Is she okay?" he asked immediately. "Under the circumstances, Sophie is alive. She was shot but the doctor said she will be OK," Rosita explained, with a small smile forming on her face at the end because Rosita was so happy that Sophie would probably get better. Adrian then breathed a sigh of relief. "Who is he exactly? How do you know each other?" Daryl asked in a cold tone while he examined Adrian very closely before Daryl then looked at Rosita and looked at her questioningly. "That's Adrian, he was, well, he's probably still Sophie's best friend. The two knew each other before everything went downhill and he was often with us," Rosita then explained briefly, whereupon Daryl nodded when he noticed that Adrian seemed to be trustworthy because Rosita seemed to trust him and Daryl knew exactly how hard it was to gain Rosita's trust, but Daryl was somehow curious how Sophie would react if she saw Adrian again. "What do we do now?" Daryl asked as he looked questioningly at Rosita since the two of them were actually on a "mission" to find the guys. "We can't just send him to Alexandria, they probably won't let him in and won't believe that we sent him," Daryl continued, whereupon Rosita thought for a moment about what they could best do with Adrian now. "I'll radio Michonne, maybe she'll let us take him there," Rosita said thoughtfully, as she had a feeling that Adrian had no place to stay or anything. So Rosita got out her walkie-talkie and set a different channel, as her walkie-talkie was still set to the channel that Rosita uses to talk to Sophie and only both of them use the channel and sometimes Micheal uses it, but not too often. "Michonne, it's me coming." Rosita said in a serious tone as she spoke into the walkie-talkie after setting the right channel. "Siddiq has already informed me about everything. About Sophie, her situation and what happened," Michonne said first in a slightly gentle tone while Rosita listened. "Okay, fine, but that's not the point, well, it is kind of but I have to tell you something else," Rosita then said, whereupon Michonne had a confused look on her face which Rosita of course couldn't see. "What happened?" Michonne asked immediately, and there was a brief silence until Daryl said something. "We found a boy," Daryl explained seriously after answering Michonne's question. "Is he armed, is he dangerous?" Michonne asked immediately in a serious tone as she didn't really know how to assess the situation. "He doesn't have a weapon on him, Rosita will explain the rest to you," Drayl said while he gave Rosita a slight grin, whereupon Rosita rolled her eyes. Rosita then explained the situation with Micheal to Michonne and she also mentioned that she knew him and what Michonne wanted to know. Then Michonne spoke again after thinking for a moment. "Come back with the boy first, so we can talk about your plans again in detail," Michonne said in a thoughtful tone, whereupon Rosita sighed as it was actually more important for her to find the guys who had hurt Sophie. "Rosita, you both come back." Came from Michonne, although it was clear that it was an order. Rosita then replied after a few seconds that she and Daryl would be leaving in the morning. So Daryl and Rosita went back to Alexandria with Adrian the next morning, where when they arrived they talked to Michonne about the situation after Adrian had introduced himself. "There were at least three or more people there when Sophie was injured," Daryl said thoughtfully. The three then talked for a while until Michonne came to a decision. "We can't let these guys go free, especially not after what they did to Sophie. Besides, we don't know what they're planning, they were close enough to Alexa. Rosita, you put a team together and then start looking," Michonne said seriously, to which Rosita nodded. "I'll take Daryl, he's a good fighter and can read well. Maybe we'll find a lead," Rosita then explained seriously. "I'll probably, Yumiko, Aaron and Mh don't know," Rosita said thoughtfully, whereupon suddenly a voice sounded behind her. "We'll help," came Kelly's confident reply, causing Michonne, Daryl, Adrian and Rosita to turn around. "We know about the situation, we'll help make Alexandria and the surrounding area safe again," Connie wrote on a notepad after Kelly had translated what they had heard. "Are you sure? It's getting dangerous," came Daryl's worried tone as he looked at Kelly and Connie, whereupon Kelly translated Daryl's words for Connie and she nodded but wrote on her notepad that she wouldn't take Kelly with her because it might be too dangerous, which Kelly didn't like at all. After a short moment, Kelly and Connie agreed that Kelly would stay in Alexandria, which Kelly didn't like but she agreed. "Okay then we already have a few people, take Aaron and Gabriel with you and that should be enough?" Michonne asked thoughtfully but seriously. "I'm taking Michael with me too, he won't allow it because of the situation," Rosita explained thoughtfully, to which Daryl nodded. Then everyone went their own way. Rosita was just about to head to the infirmary when Michael radioed her on the walkie talkie. "Micheal? What's wrong?" Rosita asked immediately in a very worried tone when she heard Michael's voice. "Sophie is already awake," explained Micheal and you could hear how relieved he was. Rosita sighed with relief and after a few seconds she spoke up. "Thank God... We'll be there soon," came Rosita's reply, whereupon she grabbed the walkie-talkie and went with Adrian to the infirmary and to the room where Sophie was and Micheal was sitting on a chair next to her bed. Micheal gave Rosita a confused look when she came in with Adrian but Rosita gave Micheal a look that said something like "I'll explain it to you in a minute" whereupon Micheal understood what she meant. Rosita then went to Sophie and carefully sat down on the edge of the bed. "Hey... You're awake, honey," came Rosita in a caring, very worried but also relieved tone when she noticed that Sophie was looking at Rosita. "How are you feeling? I know it's a stupid question but still," Rosita asked, causing Sophie to smile slightly. "It's actually OK, my head feels like I don't know what has been put in there," Sophie explained in a quiet tone. "Understandable," Rosita said understandingly. "Do you remember what happened? Before you passed out?" Rosita asked in a serious and curious tone, whereupon Sophie shook her head. Rosita had already thought of this answer, so she didn't say anything more and left it at that. "Look who I brought you, well, found you more," Rosita said gently as she pointed to Adrian. Adrian smiled at Sophie when he saw that she was looking at him too. Sophie looked at him in shock for a moment, but then Sophie's expression changed to one of confusion. "Adrian? What the? What the hell are you doing here?" Sophie asked, completely confused, when she recognized who it was. "Long story," Adrian said with a grin as he walked towards Sophie. Then Rosita went with Michael to the door where she explained to him, well, asked him if he wanted to come with her on the mission. He agreed without thinking too much. Rosita then explained all the details to Micheal while he listened attentively. "Who is the guy you brought with you?" Micheal suddenly asked after Rosita had finished explaining. "That's Adrian, he was Sophie's best friend when they were both little before it all started. We haven't seen him since the outbreak," Rosita then explained, to which Micheal nodded when he understood. Soohie seems to remember him really well," came from Michael as he looked through the window and saw Sophie and Adrian talking, and it seemed as if Adrian was distracting Sophie. He distracted Sophie from the pain, which he succeeded in doing. He's always been able to distract Sophie since childhood. He knew her damn well, after all, he was and still is her best friend. The next morning, Rosita said goodbye to Sophie, taking her time because she wanted to make sure Sophie was okay, that she had everything, and so on. Afterwards, she met up with Daryl, Yumiko, Aaron, Michael and Connie at the gate, where they all went through the plan again. So they left Alexandria to look for the guys who had hurt Sophie.
