Flashback from the end of the last chapter:
"Now come here for the family hug," Rosita said, more or less forcing a small grin. Michael hesitated at first, but then Sophie spoke up. "Now come here, you idiot, you're part of the family, forget it? You're my brother, now move your ass here," Sophie said after wiping away her tears. "Tell me," Michael said with a slight grin, whereupon he went over to the two of them and was then pulled into the hug. The three of them stayed like that for a moment. Rosita enjoyed it because she was happy that the children were OK. Her number one priority was that both Michael and Sophie were OK even though Tara hadn't made it. But they had to keep going for Tara and all the others they had lost.
Now:
A few days have passed since Sophie and the others came back, but also since Tara, Henry, Enid and others died. Rosita gave Micheal a walkie talkie so if something happens she know what's going on or of he is alright, Sophie has one since a few years already so now a has Sophie one and Micheal too. Now was Sophie sitting somewhere in Alexandria in the middle of the night, listening to some music on the walkman that Tara gave Sophie after Tara found it on a supply run a while ago. Suddenly she felt someone tapping her on the shoulder, so Sophie turned around and saw Michael behind her. "Hey," came Michael with a smile while Sophie took off her headphones and looked at Michael. "Hi," came Sophie's cold reply as she watched Michael sit down next to her. There was a moment of silence before Sophie spoke up. "What do you think of it here?" Sophie asked coldly as she looked at the walkman and stroked it with her hand. "Do you mean here in Alexandria or with you and Rosita?" Michael asked confusedly as he continued to look at Sophie. "Both," came Sophie's same tone, but she still didn't look at Michael. Michael thought for a moment before answering Sophie's question and during this time there was a silence between the two where you could only hear birds or a few people in the background but that was it. "I think it's great here in Alexandria, it's definitely like none of this ever happened," Michael began to explain in a gentle but honest tone while he looked up at the sky and then at Sophie. "I think it's great to live with you and Rosita, I mean you're my sister even though we're only half siblings but since I found out that we're half siblings because Abraham is our father I've had the feeling that I never really had. A feeling that tells me I have to be there for you and protect you, like a real big brother, but I really like that I can live with you," came Michael's honest but serious and gentle reply while he smiled. Sophie's grip on her walkman tightened when Michael mentioned Abraham, Sophie hated Abraham but still missed him but who can blame her? Abraham was her father but he still just left her and Rosita. "What's wrong?" Michael asked worriedly when he noticed that Sophie didn't seem to be on very good terms with Abraham. "It's just that... I don't like talking about Abraham," Sophie explained, to which she received a confused and curious look from Michael. "Why?" he asked curiously, to which Sophie sighed. "He left mom and me when I was younger, when everything seemed perfect he left us. It wasn't a pretty sight when I saw him talking to mom..." Sophie explained, anger building up inside her as she thought about Abraham. "Oh," was all Michael said, and there was silence for a few minutes in which no one said anything. Sophie used the silence to calm herself down, which she managed to do, and then she calmed down again. "Hey, do you want to see something cool?" Sophie asked suddenly, to which Michael looked at her in surprise. "Sure, but what?" Michael then asked confused. "A house but it's outside of Alexandria," Sophie then explained and Michael thought for a moment. "I don't think it's a good idea," said Michael as he doubted the idea of leaving Alexandria, especially as it was night. "I've been there many times and I'm there often, well, mom knows when I'm out at night that I'm there," Sophie explained, to which Michael agreed after a moment. So the two of them sneaked out of Alexandria and walked a bit until they reached a house. "It's here," came Sophie's cold reply as she pointed to a nearby house, whereupon the two of them went. Sophie went in first. The first thing you saw was a mattress, a table and a pile of things on the table. "Are you going to close the door?" asked Sophie after Michael came in too.
