Flashback from the end of the last chapter:
Let's go then," came Abraham and Mike nodded before the two of them went outside to see what was actually going on and what was causing this noise.
Now:
"Mom, where are they going?" Sophie then asked, confused as she saw Abraham and Mike leave. Rosita thought for a moment before answering her. "Your father and Mikr are going outside for a moment to check something, darling, they'll both be right back" came the answer after a few seconds from Rosita, who tried as best as she could not to worry, whereupon Sophie nodded in response to the answer. Meanwhile, Abraham and Mike went out to find out what was going on outside.
When the two arrived outside and saw that some soldiers were standing at different corners or places near the fence, others were in the middle of the property and others were outside somewhere else and were shooting at something.
"Holy shit-" came Abraham, slightly shocked, when he saw what the soldiers were shooting at, there were undead people who came to the fence and pushed their way in and a few were already on the area, which is why the soldiers were in the middle of the area were shooting, which was also what those at the fences were doing.
"Damn... we have to get away before it gets worse, it's best to get back to the truck," Mike said, also shocked, while they both watched the chaos, whereupon Abraham agreed. Meanwhile, more and more of the undead came onto the property and by now some had even arrived inside.“Huh,” Sophie said, confused when she heard footsteps behind her. Rosita heard her daughter's voice. "What's wrong, darling?" Rosita asked while checking something in the truck. After a few seconds, Sophie's answer came. "There's someone, mom," said the little girl and pointed to an undead that was coming towards her while she looked in Rosita's direction.
"Who then?" Then came the question from Rosita, who was still casually checking what was in the truck.
"I don't know, a man?" Then came Sophie's answer, which sounded more like a question. Rosita then became suspicious and turned in the direction of Sophie and saw that when Sophie said there was an undead. "Sophie!" It came from Rosita as she quickly grabbed a pistol from the truck and ran to her daughter, who now looked at the undead in shock when she realized that he was covered in blood as he got closer and closer to Sophie. At that moment, Mike and Abraham came back and saw the whole thing happen.
Rosita pushed her daughter behind her so she wouldn't have to see it and Rosita shot the undead. “Damn that was close, is she okay?” Abraham immediately said he was worried, but Mike also looked worried.
Rosita then got to Sophie's eye level while Abraham kept an eye on the surroundings to make sure if more would come in.
"Sophie, darling, are you okay?" Rosita then asked in a still very worried tone while she placed a hand on Sophie's cheek and at the same time checked to see if Sophie was okay.
Sophie then nodded as confirmation that everything was okay, whereupon Rosita breathed a sigh of relief.
“Luckily,” Mike said with relief while a small smile left his lips. Abraham looked at Eugene briefly before saying something. “Are you okay too?” Now the bearded man was getting cold again while he was looking at Eugene. Eugene now also looked at him before he answered Abraham.
“Yes, thank you,” came Eugene’s answer while he nodded slightly.
"Okay, don't imagine anything about it, okay? Nothing can happen to you," Abraham said, still cold to Eugene because Abham didn't trust him and was also a bit skeptical about the whole thing.
"So what's going on out there and where did this thing come from again?" Things got serious and Rosita was both a little upset and worried as she alternately looked between Mike and Abraham. "When Abraham and I went out to look, we saw a whole bunch of them, by the fences, on the property, just everywhere. But when we went back in we saw that there were walkers in the building too, so I think it's one of them who were out of the building," Mike then explained where the undead came from.
"Damn, they're everywhere...
Wait, what? Walkers?" Rosita asked, visibly confused as she looked at Mike.
He also looked at her once before he started to explain why he called her walker. "Rosita, think about it. These things just don't run, they just walk slowly and that's about it and that's why walker, now that's just my idea, so at least we have a name if we talk about these undead," he then explained while mike looked at the walker that rosita had shot earlier and rosita nodded because it somehow makes sense to call the undead "walkers".
Meanwhile, Sophie listened the whole time and Abraham continued to keep an eye on whether more of the walkers would come or not.
Since Rosita had now gotten up again, Sophie went to Abraham, who was standing a little away from the others and looked to see whether there were any more walkers nearby or not. "What are you doing?" Sophie curiously asked Abraham as she walked up to him.
"I'll be careful," Abraham then replied with a gentle undertone as he looked at her but was still paying attention. Abraham looked away from Sophie for a moment because he heard some strange noises. He held his weapon tighter as the noise got closer and signaled to the others to be quiet for a moment so that he could hear what it was.
"Damn..!, Mike!" Abraham was suddenly startled when he heard the sound of more walkers. It was the walkers who were already in the building when Abraham and Mike came back."Huh?" Mike was surprised and then quickly turned around.
"Shit," Mike then replied as he held up his rifle and rushed towards the first walkers that came in and shot them.
"Darling, get in the car," Abraham said seriously while he was looking after a walker, but Rosita was about to protest, but Abraham was already coming towards her because he knew Rosita.
"Rosita" came from him in a more serious tone and Rosita realized that there was no point in arguing now so she quickly went into the car and sat down. Abraham, who had Sophie behind him, saw that there were more and more of them as he looked around.
"Sophie go to mom in the car, now"
Abraham said it seriously as he looked at Sophie, who was standing behind him in fear. Sophie nodded quickly and made her way to the car, running past several walkers, which she was able to do thanks to her small size. She was about to touch the car door when suddenly a walker was behind her. Sophie looked at the walker in shock. "Dad!" Sophie then said loudly as she looked at the walker.
"Shit, Sophie!" Abraham said in shock as he looked at Sophie and then at Sophie and saw the walker. Abraham killed the walker who was with him and wanted to go to Sophie when he saw that Mike was closer but he was about to call Mike's name but Mike looked at him and they both gave each other a nod as a sign that Mike would do it. Mike ran over and stabbed the walker with a knife he had with him when he saw that he had walker Sophie on the arm and she tried to pull her arm away.The walker then fell dead to the ground and then he gently grabbed Sophie by the shoulders.
"Hey, everything's okay, are you hurt somewhere?" Mike came out stressed but at the same time worried and gentle, whereupon Sophie gave a quick nod and Abraham continued to try to get rid of the walkers, but there were more and more of them, so over time he went to the others in small steps.
"Come into the car with you," he continued, whereupon Sophie nodded again but then suddenly looked frightened behind Mike. There was now a walker behind Mike but Sophie was too scared to say anything. Mike noticed her look. "What's wrong, Sophie?" Mike then asked and then turned around when he didn't get an answer.
Mike was about to stab him with his knife but it was already too late and the walker bit and caught him on the shoulder. "Fuck...." Mike then escaped in pain and Abraham heard this and immediately turned around and immediately looked at Mike. When Abraham found out that the walker had bitten him, he shot the walker directly in the head. Meanwhile, Mike picked Sophie up despite his pain but he tried to ignore it as best as he could. "Hey everything is going to be okay," Mike Ald said, partially gently. He tried to calm Sophie while he took her in his arms and Sophie nodded quickly, frightened, and looked at his wound.
"Hey. Don't look, okay? Look at me," Mike said as best he could, whereupon Sophie then looked at him. "I'm not understood for such a thing?" Mike stated even though he knew full well that that wasn't the case and that he would become a walker.
"Sophie promise me what can you do for me?" It came from Mikr while he was carrying Sophie to the truck, whereupon she said "yes" as confirmation. "Listen to what Rosita and Abraham say, yes? But feel free to make your own decisions, but try to make them in such a way that they don't harm you and the people around you, okay? Do you understand that?" Mike Damn explained his request and looked at her as he continued to carry her to the car.
"Yes. So always listen to mom and dad and sometimes do my things and try to protect many people with it?" Sophie repeated it again and asked again to know if it was correct. “Exactly, really, little one, so please remember that,” Mike said.
When Abraham had the path partially clear, he quickly went to the truck where Mike was now with Sophie.
"Mike..." Abraham said quietly as he looked at the wound. “Get Sophie in the car,” Mike just said without answering Abraham’s statement.
Abraham nodded before saying anything. "I'll do it, hold on, yeah?" It came from Abraham in a rather quiet and sad tone while he picked up Mike Sophie. Mike nodded and meanwhile Mike stopped the walkers as best he could as they approached the vehicle while Abraham went to the truck and opened the door of the truck. Abraham put Sophie in, and Rosita, who heard the door open, turned around and then saw that it was just Abraham putting Sophie in the truck in her child seat. "Are you okay, is Sophie okay?" Rosita then immediately asked concerned, whereupon Abraham nodded. "Okay luckily what about mike..?" Rosita asked now that he wasn't with Abraham. Abraham just looked at Rosita and she knew what he wanted to say. "Damn, Mike..." Rosita said sadly while a tear escaped her eyes. Abraham nodded, also sad. "Watch out for Sophie, don't let her look out the window, right? At least not now," Abraham said seriously but also sadly as he buckled Sophie in. "I'll do it, be careful," replied Rosita, whereupon Abraham nodded and closed the door.Abraham then went to Mike who had meanwhile killed a few more walkers.
“There you are,” Mike said in a tormented tone, who was now leaning against the wall.
"Hey man, we'll get you out of here, just hang on," Abraham said worriedly as he walked towards him as Mike slowly sat down.Mike just shook his head. "Abraham..., we both know how it ends..." came Mike's answer. "Yes...but I won't let you become one of those things," Abraham said seriously as he looked at Mike. Mike looked at him too and a small smile left his lips.
"No you will not." Now it came from Mike and Abraham knew Gabz exactly what it was going to lead to when he saw Mike take out his pistol and look at Abraham while he held the pistol in Abraham's direction so that Abraham could take it.
"Hey Abe, take good care of Rosita and especially Soph? She won't have a normal childhood but she's strong like you and also like Rosita so take care of them both, will you?" It came weakly but still laughing from Mike while Abraham accepted the weapon. Abraham nodded as confirmation that he would definitely do it as he accepted the gun. "Good, she's a great kid." Mike said it in the same tone as he walked to the truck and realized that Sophie was looking out because Rosita couldn't pay attention because she was arguing with Eugene because he wanted her to drive off, which of course Rosita couldn't do without Abraham.
"I'm going to miss you, man," came Abraham as he slowly pointed the gun at Mikr, which he didn't actually want to do, but he knew he had to do it if he didn't want Mike to become an undead who would eat others, he could do that just don't do that to his old friend and comrade. "You too, survive as long as you can," Mike then said, whereupon Abraham closed his eyes while Mikr closed his eyes, whereupon Abraham unintentionally pulled the trigger and looked for a brief moment at Mike, who was now dead. But at least he wouldn't become one of these things . Abraham quickly went to the car when he saw that there were more and more walkers and opened the passenger door because Rosita was sitting on the driver's side this time.
“There you are,” Rosita said worriedly.
"Yes, everything is fine, drive off quickly, there are more and more of them," replied Abraham seriously, whereupon Rosita immediately started the car and drove off. The car drove fast and soon they had left the area and were now on the street and Abraham looked out the window and you could see the buildings and there were walkers and corpses everywhere.
Rosita now drove on the road and set off with the others, no matter who, the main thing was to get away from here first was the motto.
