For weeks, Amil had been complaining about her lack of a schedule whenever she didn't have work. She wasn't expecting it, but heartbreak was just enough to put the fire under her feet—literally. As soon as she woke up, she changed out of her pajamas into her Target Lulu Lemon dupe outfit, and began to run around her grandparents neighborhood. It wasn't in the plans for her to do so, but as soon as Zion crossed her mind, her natural instinct was to run to keep from crying.

Amil ran for a hour straight, prancing through her tears in the process. With every tear fallen, she conditioned herself to run faster, hoping that the faster she ran, the better she would feel mentally. Once her running concluded, Amil then made it back home and showered before switching into a lounge outfit. Immediately after, she threw herself into work. She was active on Instagram, heavily promoting the Solace interview that she was scheduled to post on Friday.

Amil even completed the errands she hated, like going to the post office to drop off her Depop orders. And after all of that, she landed herself in the company of Omari.

"Did you know that nigga was married?" Amil questioned her friend while looking up from her computer screen. To her surprise, Omari was still very serious about his business. After gaining some traction and garnering some hype surrounding his release, he decided that his next step was to start building his website, so he reached out to his friend for her help.

Mar shook head no, "Shit, I'm just as surprised as you. I been knowing him for like five years, and I never heard him bring up no wife." He explained. Amil subtly kissed her teeth as she shook her head. "Men don't talk about shit important—I only been friends with Mei for like 2 months and I know everything about her ex." She replied.

"Niggas just be around each other and don't know shit about each other." She added while she continued to subtly shake her head. "I promise if I woulda knew I woulda told you—see, this exactly why I never tried to put you down with my homeboys...now I hate that nigga." He replied, making Amil crack her first smile of the day as she chuckled.

"I know the bottom line is that he married, but on some real shit, Mil—I think it is just for the benefits. Before you, I seen him with a couple hoes, so it's not like he tied down or nothing." Mar spoke. Even while being Amil's best friend, the things Mar would say always instantly reminded her that at the end of the day, he was a man. These realizations were often bittersweet, as she came to the conclusion that he'd never one hundred percent understand where she was coming from, they were spinning on two different axis'.

"I don't wanna be with a married man regardless of the situation. And on top of that—he lied, which is even more infuriating." Amil replied while dragging her middle finger across the mouse pad of Omari's laptop. "Then the nigga laid that shit out on Valentine's Day." Amil spoke in disbelief. Before she knew it, a plethora of tears began to fall from her eyes.

"They say niggas in the military do shit like that, but I thought he was different." She spoke, growing more emotional by the second.

"I knew all that shit was too good to be true." She voiced right before erupting into a cry. A sigh fell from Omari's mouth as he got up and walked over to his friend. He removed his laptop from her lap and pulled her up into a hug, which was something they didn't do too often. His hold was warm and genuine, which was everything she needed right now.

"Cmon, Man...you gon' be straight, chin up chest out. If that nigga hiding shit like that from you, then he just don't deserve you—simple. I know it hurt right now, but imagine how good it's gon' feel when you boss up on that nigga." Mar spoke before pulling away so they could lay eyes on each other. He then lifted up the end of his graphic tee and used it to wipe away Amil's tears.
