Saturday finally arrived, a beacon of freedom after a week of school days. Y/N, eagerly anticipating the evening, had been invited to Nagi's house for dinner by his parents. The anticipation was palpable; Nagi's parents were known for their impeccable manners and warm hospitality, and Y/N was eager to taste Nagi's father cooking once again. Nagi's father had already expressed his fondness for her bubbly personality, and his mother was equally charming.

The aroma of her mother's homemade chicken adobo filled the air, a familiar comfort that usually made Y/N forget about everything else. But this time, her excitement over her boyfriend parents inviting her for dinner outweighed even the irresistible smell.

"Mom, you won't believe it," she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling, "Nagi's parents invited me for dinner at their house this evening!" Her mother, her face crinkling in a heartwarming smile, clapped her hands with happy gasp. "That's wonderful, honey!" Y/N, her heart brimming with happiness, felt a pang of anxiety at the same time. She knew Nagi's parents were a little more formal than her own, and the thought of going to their house, dressed in her usual jeans and t-shirt, made her feel a little apprehensive.
As if sensing her hesitation, her mother, her eyes twinkling with mischief, suggested, "Don't you want to get a new dress? Something simple but elegant? You know, for the occasion?" Y/N protested, "Mom, I don't need a new dress! I have plenty of clothes." But her mother, her hand already on the door, was already pulling her out of the house, "Oh, but honey, a new dress is always a good thing," she said, her tone firm but light, "Come on, let's go shopping." Y/N couldn't do anything but sigh, "Okay then!"

And so, the afternoon was spent weaving through the bustling aisles of the mall, sifting through racks of dresses, Y/N's protests slowly melting away as her mother's contagious enthusiasm filled the air.

"What about this one?"
"No No, too revealing for me.."
"This?"
"Doesn't reaches my knees."
"Look at this one!"
Y/N narrowed her eyes and placed her hand on her hip. "Mom, even you wouldn't wear it..."
"Oh!" She glanced back at the dress and apologetically smiled, "...True. Sorry."

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, they settled on a beautiful, [fav color] dress that draped perfectly over Y/N's frame, the perfect blend of simple and elegant, just like her mother had said. As Y/N walked out of the store, holding the dress bag, she couldn't help but smile. "You were right, good thing we managed to get it before somebody else did."
"What I'm saying! And it perfectly compliments your body too!"
"Haha yeah!"

Later in the evening....

'I wonder if Nagi told them about us becoming couple...' She said in her mind while applying lip gloss, 'who knows.. I'm pretty sure they won't be against our relationship.'

With a final glance in the mirror, Y/N straightened her dress, a nervous flutter in her stomach. 'This dress is so nice!'

While Y/N was busy correcting herself, she didn't noticed her father staring at her form, silently staring at his daughter in fondness.
"D-Dad!" She yelped.
"Hi sweetie. Sorry for scaring you. Is that the new dress that mom bought for you?" He asked, sipping on his soda. "You look wonderful."
"Mhm! Thank you dad. My.. boyfriend's parents invited me over to their house to have dinner with them."
"Uh huh.. dinner you say." he slowly nodded his head, "Oh right, your mom did told me about this. Alright then, I hope you will have a great time."
"I hope so too because I'm kinda nervous.."

Her father walked up to her and carefully pat her head to not ruin her hairstyle. Y/N looked up at him and was met with his gentle smile. "I'm sure everything will go smoothly. But even if something bad will happen, do not be afraid of calling me or mom, alright?"
"...Okay. I will."
"Besides," he pulled away his hand from her head and smiled with more confidence, "who wouldn't like you? You're the most coolest person I know!"
Y/N sheepishly smiled. "Alright alright I get it Dad... Thank you, really. I will tell you everything once I get back."
"Of course you will." He scoffed with smirk.
