Bookmark, Flare, and Thread were all in Bookmark's room, having just wrapped up season 1 of BFDI. They mostly enjoyed watching their parents compete in on the show, seeing what they were up to all of those years ago. Although, it did leave them with a handful of questions.

"I knew my dad and Pin were the first to start dating out of my parents, with my other mom joining the relationship later," Thread noted, "But it's interesting, it seems like my dad was a lot closer with needle, heck, she even admitted to having a crush on her!"

"That's definitely something to think about." Bookmark said, reflecting on the show as a whole. "The only one that I really remember my mom talk about is Ice Cube, apperntly they were close friends. Although, not to be rude Flare, but your mom maybe could have treated her a little better."

"Nah, I get it, Bookmark." Flare said. "She's definitely the type who would do that. And it seemed like my other mom was just joined to her hip! Things haven't changed that much between the two of them."

"Honestly, Bubble was my personal favorite out of the alliance." Thread stated. "No offence, Flare."

"None taken." Flare responded. "She seemed pretty cool, I was honestly rooting for her to win. Then, we would have had none of the drama of Firey not letting Leafy onto Dream Island, and we would be residents of such a cool place!"

"Hey!" Bookmark exclaimed. "Then my parents wouldn't have competed at all, and I wouldn't even exist!"

Thread put her hand over her mouth, feeling a little bad. "We like you Bookmark, I don't think I would give that up for any island!"

"Yeah, I know." Bookmark said with a smile. "I would have loved to live on an island like that too!"

"Ya know Thread, I have to give your parents credit." Flare stated. "They must have had a big turnaround after season 1, because they seem quite chill now compared to how they were back then."

Thread nodded, a smile on her face. "I'm proud of them all, especially Pin. I think she doesn't want me to watch the show because of her personality back then. I wish I could tell her that I know how much she doesn't like it without getting in trouble, because trust me, I didn't like her either."

Bookmark turned her head to Flare. "I'm guessing your parents are a lot different to, Flare. I mean, they were quite annoying back then, but they seem a lot chiller now, at least to me."

Flare looked up at the ceiling. "Well...I can say that for one of them."

"Which one?" Thread asked.

"Match." Flare said in an instant. "She's definitely not as much of a 'mean girl' as she was back then. I overheard her say that she still talks to some of the alliance members, which I assume are Bubble and Icy, unless someone joins it later."

"What about your other mom?" Bookmark asked softly.

Flare hesitated, fiddling with the edge of the blanket draped over her lap. "It's... complicated," she said finally. "Pencil and I aren't really that close. Even though she's home all the time, it feels like she's just on the phone a lot, and after she picks me up at the bus stop, it's rare that I see her until dinner, well after my other mom gets home."

Thread tilted her head sympathetically. "That sounds rough, Flare. Does she know you feel that way?"

Flare shrugged. "I don't think so. It's not like we fight or anything. She's not mean to me or anything like that—it's just... distant. Like, she'll ask me how school went, but it feels like she's doing it out of obligation. Most of the time, I just end up telling my mom about stuff instead."
