"I'm so sick of eating old food," Piper grumbled, turning the slightly squishy apple over in her hands and then setting it down on the coffee table the three girls sat around, in various states of pyjama.
They were going to have to head off soon if they wanted to not die of starvation. What a pathetic way to die, considering they were fated to save the world, and all that jazz. The picnic had been their last resources. Now it was just soft fruit with the bruises cut off and the choc chip-less muesli bars.
"How far away's the next town over?" Hazel asked, looking through her cards.
It would have been a shorter trip to Athens over land, but after the crew's experience with mountain spirits in Italy, they'd decided not to fly over Gaea's territory any more than they had to.
