sorry i've been gone for so long! Divorced, diagnosed with a chronic disease and life just got away from me. This may not be the best but I really did want to give an update to the story. So here goes nothing! Oh also once complete, I will probably go back through this story and tweak it or at least fix my mistakes lol
Friday, One Day Before Graduation
"How did we get signed up for helping out with this shit?" Hunter grumbled as he poorly placed graduation pamphlets on empty chairs.
"Oh I don't know Hunter. MAYBE it was all the shit you put the staff and our classmates through over the last four years here." Kevin sarcastically replied with a short snort. Following behind Hunter as he fixed the pamphlets that he was tossing onto chairs.
"It's just..so lame dude. We could be spending our Friday morning doing anything other than.. this." Hunter whined out again.
Stopping in his tracks once he caught sight of the girls across the football field. Admiring the way Frankie was beating a graduation sign with a hammer into the ground. Chuckling to himself as he knew she was complaining the same as he.
Kevin laughed to himself as realized he was no longer listening. Seeing how Hunter's eyes locked on her and was smiling to himself.
"Marry the girl already why don't ya?"
Hunter choked on air at Kevin's joke of a question. Going red in the face as he started to ramble a response back.
"We-we're just kids. We haven't even finished school yet. I mean we will tomorrow bu-but I couldn't put pressure on her like that. Ya know? How would I even do it? Would she even want to get married? Or-or have a wedding? Would Skullflower play at it? Oh man. What if-"
"Hunter!" Kevin spat out to stop the mini panic episode he was spiraling down. "Easy man, it was a joke."
"A joke?" He quietly questioned more to himself. Having his mind race as he looked off again to see Frankie in the distance still. Smirking to himself as he saw her throw her head back in laughter with Emily and Lisa. Wishing he was closer to hear it.
She looked across the field and meant Hunter's gaze. Blowing him a kiss as he waved sweetly her way.
Would she ever want to get married? Hunter thought to himself. Let alone to someone like me. What would our future be like? Would why buy a house nearby? Settle down? Or travel the world together if Skullflower made it big? No, no that's crazy. I mean she doesn't think of things like that...does she?
