Finally, we're in our senior year in high school! That means there'll be another adjustment for me again since I'm no longer with my classmates that I used to be with.
"Nasa akin ang lunch mo. Ikaw ang dumaan sa room mamaya, ha?"
It's finally our first day as a grade 11 student. Kahapon nagkaroon kami ng orientation about what we're going to expect for our two-year journey in this school. We also met the student council in which they are the ones who organized this event for us to at least get along with each other.
"Palipat kaya ako? Keith, ayaw mo ba akong kasama?" Tanong ni Zane sa akin.
I rolled my eyes at what he said, "tangek! Magkasama naman tayo sa iisang building, jusko. Sobrang clingy mo, konti na lang iisipin ko talagang crush mo ako."
"Eh paano kung oo?"
I was shocked at what he said but then, he took it back, "tangek joke lang! Hahahaha!"
"Bwisit ka talaga, umalis ka na nga!" Pagtataboy ko rito para pumasok na siya sa klase nila.
I silently went inside of our room. I saw that most of my classmates were already there. I decided to sit at the front dahil gusto ko ring makapagfocus sa pag-aaralan. Luckily, may isa pang bakante sa harap kaya naman doon ako agad na umupo.
I was scrolling on my account when I felt someone sat beside me. I looked at him only to see a guy who looks so neat and proper. Agad naman itong ngumiti sa akin na sinuklian ko rin.
He suddenly spoke, "I'm Josiah. You?"
"Elthon." He offered his hand and I accepted it for a handshake. We just casually talked for a moment and he's very friendly. Well, base naman kasi sa aura niya ay may pagka-golden retriever ang vibe niya.
We spent half of our morning class introducing ourselves in front of our class. Our teachers also discussed the house rules, and even the breakdown of lessons that we'll be studying from the entire semester.
"Taga-Manila ako, eh. Nagtransfer ako rito nung grade 10. Pero ayos lang naman. Ikaw ba, dito ka lang din?" Tanong ni Josiah sa akin nang magpunta kami sa canteen.
"Ah, oo. Dito talaga ako since birth."
"Ayaw mong lumabas ng Sorsogon?" He asked me.
"That's actually my plan, but 'di pa sure kasi baka hindi ko kaya." I said.
We talked about some things and decided to come back to our room since it'll be our time for another subject before we take our lunchtime. Unlike me, Josiah is indeed friendly. In fact, marami na rin itong kakilala sa loob ng room namin. He's very friendly and enthusiastic kaya naman hindi ito mahirap pakisamahan. Hindi na rin ako nagulat nang ito ang mahalal bilang presidente ng section namin.
Nang magtanghalian ay natanaw ko na agad si Zane sa labas ng room namin. He was scrolling on his phone while waiting for our class to dismiss. Nang magdismiss ay dali-dali akong lumabas at nagpaalam kay Josiah na sasamahan ko si Zane ngayong tanghali.
"Hi, kumusta?" Bungad ko rito.
He slipped his phone in his pocket and smiled at me before responding, "nakakapagod makipagkapwa tao, keith."
Agad ko itong tinawanan. He's very reserved when it comes to his energy. Mabilis nga itong ma-drain lalo na kapag hindi niya ka-close sobra ang kausap niya.
"Wala ka namang choice. Ano ba nangyari?" Tanong ko rito,
"Shiniship ako ro'n sa babae." Agad namang pasimpleng tumuro si Zane sa babae na may kausap na estudyante.
