In the span of four years studying in this school, we can actually tell that we indeed grew up better year by year. Nagkaroon ako ng iba't ibang affiliation sa mga clubs at organizations from the past years. There are still many clubs that encourage me to join yet since this is my last year as a junior high student, I chose to stay at one organization instead. I was elected as the president of the Supreme Student Government. I just wanna give my last shot before leaving our school. From the four years of studying here, I've learned a lot of things…
even the process of love.
Nung una akala ko naman ay infatuation lang ang nararamdaman ko kay Zane dahil lagi kaming magkasama. But then, as years pass by, I've gathered my thoughts to confirm that it wasn't just a crush thing already.. but rather a love that I don't know how am I going to voice out knowing that it might affect us, our friendship. Ayoko namang mangyari 'yon.
"Kailan ka ba aamin?" Tanong ni Athena,
"Tanga, sinasabi mo d'yan? Walang ganiyan!" Saad ko rito.
She laughed, "teh, ako na napapagod sa'yo, jusko! Pero true naman, bahala ka malaki ka na."
Over the years, Athena already knew a lot of things about me, especially the feelings I have for Zane. Naalala ko noong kinulit niya kaming dalawa ni Zane dahil nakita niya ang profile picture nito.
But we denied, ewan ko ba kasi rito kay Zane. Kesyo ano raw pake nila eh account niya 'yon. Tama naman, may point.
Nakapila kami sa canteen para bumili ng pagkain, hindi ko na ginising si Zane dahil nagrush daw siya kagabi ng project niya sa science. Kung hindi ba naman kasi isa't kalahating gago, mas inuna ang paglalaro ng ML kaysa gumawa. End season na raw kasi kaya siya nagg-grind. Ewan ko na lang talaga.
"Bakit ka umalis?" Narinig ko si Zane at halata rito na bagong gising lang siya.
"Bumili lang, ang clingy mo naman masyado." Saad ko rito.
We ate our lunch and we continued doing some activities we needed to pass. We're also doing our costume for the culminating activity.
"Nakakapagod, jusko! Kailan ba matatapos 'to!" Sigaw ni Miko habang papasok ng room. He's our choreographer for the cheerdance competition.
"Balita ko after daw ng laban ia-announce yung result ng final list of honors for JHS completers, ah?" Sambit ni Michael.
And that made me feel nervous. I know I'm aiming for the top spot because of how my parents pressure me to achieve it. I don't know, nakatatak na sa akin mula noon pa man na kailangan kong tumaas… because that's the only way for me to be noticed by them. It's just that sad that I really need to be validated in academics before I can feel the presence of my parents.
Masakit na grado na lang talaga ang paraan para makita nila ako.
I was born in a family full of academic awardees. Sila mama na hindi raw bumaba sa puwesto nila noong nasa elementarya hanggang sa magkolehiyo sila. They graduated with flying colors and sadly… their achievements were pushed towards me where it became a root of all the pressures I've gotten.
Gusto kasi nila, tila isa akong repleksyon ng mga medalya at tagumpay na nalasap nila.
"Kuya, miss ko na kayo.." Saad ko kay kuya sa video call namin. Saktong napatawag ito nang makauwi ako sa bahay.
They decided to live in Italy since andoon na rin naman ang trabaho nila ng asawa niya pati ang pamilya nito. Noong una, natatakot si Kuya na iwan ako pero I assured him that it's fine and there's nothing to worry about. And besides, he deserves to live happily with his family.
