//CHAPTER 16.3

Blue

Friendship isn't about who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you" and proved it.

Warning: Sensitive themes, violence

As Blue walked down the narrow hallway, he was vaguely aware of Purple stepping nervously behind him. He held the Lookie up higher and looked it in the eyes.

"I don't know why you're so special, but you're coming with us." Blue grunted as he walked. The Lookie (was Coral its name?) squeaked again in response, to which he shook his head.

"Listen. Unless you can help us, you've got to stay out of the way, can you do that?" He asked, assuming that it understood him. Coral squeaked, blinking innocently at him again.

As Blue entered the next room, he listened for any distant noises. When he heard none, he continued on his way. Their first stop would be Red's lab. The little coward was bound to be there, hiding while the Rainbow Friends did all the hard work.

But as he neared the doorway on the other side, he almost collided with something big and bright.

He almost fell backwards, letting out a surprised yell. When he regained his footing, he suddenly found himself face to face with none other than Yellow. He wasn't in his Predator Form, thank the rainbow.

Blue smiled as Purple came to a hesitant stop next to him. "Yellow! There you are! You need to listen to me-"

"B-blue!" Yellow cried, stepping forward, his voice sounding panicked. "You can't be here! Go away now!" He warned.

The poor monster was trembling with wide eyes. It was obvious that something bad had happened, but what? Blue felt a rush of fear as he wasn't sure whether Yellow was in danger or not.

Blue took a step back, suddenly feeling very uncomfortable. "Yellow...?" He started slowly, but Yellow cut him off.

"Red! He-he's-" Yellow started, only to get cut off himself by a pained cry.

Blue's singular eye widened in horror as he dropped Coral to the ground, who began to roll away from the scene with haste.

Yellow twitched as he fell to his knees, wailing in pain. Blue could see sparks flying off of Yellow's propellor pack, and instantly knew what was happening.

"No! Yellow, please!" He yelled, trying to run forwards and help him, but Purple held him back by the arm, shaking his head desperately.

"Blue, don't do it! You'll risk getting hurt!" Purple said loudly.

Blue stopped struggling and could only watch Yellow suffer, to his utter dismay. In that moment, watching his friend struggle, he felt like a complete failure.

And this had already happened to Green, his very best friend Green.

Yellow continued to wail and scream, a horrible sound for Blue to witness. It pierced his ears, but even worse than that, it pierced his soul.

Blue could only imagine the pain. To feel like your entire body is on fire. To be unable to move, yet being trapped in such agony.

Before too long, Yellow fell silent as Blue and Purple waited with bated breath, hoping that he would be okay.
