Jungkook stepped off the bus, the cold December air biting at his cheeks. He pulled his beanie down tighter and tightened the knot of his scarf. It was the first day of winter break, and he was eager to get home to the warm embrace of his mother's cooking. The small town looked the same as it always did this time of year, the streetlights casting a soft glow over the thin layer of snow that had settled overnight. As he approached the house, he noticed an unfamiliar silhouette in the window, one that was smaller and more delicate than his mother's.

His heart skipped a beat when she opened the door, a beaming smile on her face. "Welcome home, Jungkook!" she exclaimed, pulling him into a warm hug. She stepped aside to reveal a boy with a mop of messy hair and eyes that mirrored his own. "This is your cousin Taehyung. He and his mother will be staying with us for the holidays." Jungkook nodded awkwardly, extending his hand. Taehyung looked up at him with a shy smile and took it gently, his hand feeling like a soft feather in Jungkook's. The innocence in his gaze was like a punch to Jungkook's gut. He hadn't expected to feel this way about a thirteen-year-old, but there it was, a confusing mix of protectiveness and something else, something he didn't dare name.

Dinner was a noisy affair with his mother's laughter filling the room and Taehyung's occasional shy giggles. Jungkook found himself stealing glances at the younger boy, his heart racing every time their eyes met. He had to remind himself that this was his cousin, that he was too young, that it was wrong. But the way Taehyung's cheeks flushed when their eyes locked made it difficult to ignore the attraction that was growing within him. Jungkook pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on the warmth of the food and the comfort of his mother's stories about the old days.

The following days were a blur of awkward interactions and forced smiles. Jungkook tried to keep his distance, but Taehyung seemed to follow him everywhere, eager to learn about college life and the city. His curiosity was endearing, and Jungkook found it hard to stay annoyed. They spent their afternoons building snowmen and having snowball fights in the backyard, their laughter echoing through the quiet neighborhood. Jungkook felt a strange sense of joy watching Taehyung's eyes light up with every snowball thrown, and every snowflake that landed on his nose.

At night, when everyone had retreated to their rooms, Jungkook would lay in bed, unable to sleep. His thoughts would drift to Taehyung, who was sleeping on the bed across him, and he would feel a warmth spread through his body that had nothing to do with the heavy blankets. He'd clench his fists and willing his mind to go to a different place, but the image of Taehyung's smile, the way his eyes sparkled with mischief when he won a round of video games, or the gentle curve of his cheek as he slept, remained stubbornly etched in his mind. Sometimes, the desire was so intense that it was a physical ache.

One evening, as they watched a movie together, Taehyung had scooted closer to Jungkook, seeking warmth from the cold outside. Jungkook's arm had accidentally brushed against Taehyung's, and he felt a jolt of electricity that made his pulse race. He tried to keep his breathing steady, not wanting to betray the turmoil inside him. Taehyung, oblivious to the internal storm, had leaned into him, his head resting on Jungkook's shoulder. Jungkook's body responded involuntarily, and he had to shift uncomfortably in his seat to hide the growing bulge in his pants. He told himself it was just a natural reaction, that it didn't mean anything. But deep down, he knew it was more than that.

Finally, as the credits rolled, Jungkook made his decision. "Fuck it," he murmured to himself, his hand sliding over to rest on Taehyung's thigh. The fabric of the boy's pajama pants was soft under his touch, and Jungkook felt the muscles tense before they relaxed. Taehyung looked up at him with those wide, innocent eyes, and Jungkook felt his resolve crumbling. He didn't know what he was doing, but he couldn't stop himself. He began to rub Taehyung's thigh gently, his thumb tracing small circles on the inside, feeling the heat of the young skin beneath.
