Tiki POV
"This is getting out of hand."
"It's hard for me to control myself. Dragons and lycans are natural enemies." Zar admits
"Listen, Zane told me he would always help me, with anything last night. So to find the other experiment...you need to give Carlos back."
"And you trust him?" He lifts an eyebrow
"I don't know. We will just have to take our chances." I feel like I should trust him but I've only met him a couple times. Same with everyone else here.
Zarryeth growls but complies. Carlos' eyes turn back to their warm brown and he smirks.
"Let's try one more thing. But you have to swear not to kill me afterwards."
What is he up to now? I hesitated but agree with him. That's when I knew I shouldn't have.
Carlos grabs my arm and throws me.
PRESENT NOW
"What I'm about to tell you is where we came from. And it's not a nice one." Carlos says and looks at me for confirmation. I nod, it's not like we have a choice here. Carlos and I need their help if we want to find the experiment before me.
"It began about 8 months ago. But before I start that, there are some things you all need to understand first. We are not alone. This isn't the only world, there's magic, different of the witches and warlocks. Magic that can transport people to different worlds also known as Realms." Carlos takes a break and we both look at everyone. Everyone looks serious but also eager to know more.
"There are 5 known realms. One in which my species has kept hidden called Ember. One to the human realm called Earth. Another is Alferi and the fourth is Lunar Sky. Lastly, this world, Mooness. And there is a sixth, but no one knows about. At least we think no one knows about. It's a realm where we came from. We call it The Lab."
"How do you know all this?" Kenna asks.
"I've been through 4 of them. But we escaped The Lab to Earth then here, Mooness."
"What were they like?!"
"The Lab is torture, earth is toxic and Alferi is hell. Even I wasn't able to keep my dragon form for very long on Earth and I almost died in Alferi." Carlos answers her and continues.
"I found Tasha lying on the ground after something saved her from the lab. After that, we traveled for days and along the way we learned a little bit about each other, Tasha bonded with Champ, met a water deity and we fought off firebirds and flame lizards. After all that we found a portal. A portal is the magic that can transport us to the different realms. Now the thing is, I haven't figured out a way to tell which realm is connected to the portals yet but I've been working on it. Anyway, we were transported to Earth. Like I said before, its a toxic place. Especia;;y to strong shifters."
"But with Tasha's abilities that we've seen..."
"Yes, Earth nearly killed her."
"Carlos!" I yell at him. We need their knowledge not their symphony. Plus, how could he tell them how weak I was?!
"Right, I've had to hurry because of how sick Tasha was. So after 6 long months, I found a portal that could possibly have led us to a safe place. And that's how we ended up here." Carlos finishes with a final sigh.
"Why stop in the Woods?" Kenna asks
"We are looking for somebody who has passed through from the Lab. This is where your promise comes in Lycan." Carlos looks at Zane
"Did Tasha tell you?"
"Zane! What did you promise her?!" Nathan asks. I think this is the first time I've heard him talk.
"I just promised I would help her with anything. Just as a mate should." He replies.
No one says anything to that. It must be true then.
"So that means we really have a future Luna." The two girls start to smile and look at each other. I can see the gears grinding in their minds.
Carlos glares at them and Sasha gives a little growl but says nothing. She may have growled but I can feel her happiness. A Luna is one that leads, right?
"Yes, along side their mate called an Alpha. They serve and protect those under them. Together a Luna and alpha is the shield as they are the weapons." Sasha responds.
"Why?" I ask
"You will have to see for yourself." That's all she says.
Tch
I won't be here for long anyway. As soon as Carlos and I find the information, we will be leaving.
I grab my chest and have a strange feeling in my chest. What is this feeling? Look back at Zane and I find him staring at me. Our eyes connect and it's like he sees right through my soul. I growl at him and he breaks eye contact.
"There is one problem. Zane isn't Alpha yet and Tasha is still technically a rogue. Rogues can't come into the alpha's territory let alone the heart of the pack." Mason points out
"It's true. We've never had a rogue as a Luna before. We don't know what will happen." Maddie says.
"It doesn't matter, Tasha is my mate and if she needs something I will do it for her." There was no stuttering when Zane said that. My heart feels warm suddenly.
"Then let's go now." Carlos shrugs his shoulders.
"Now? We haven't even had breakfast yet!" Luke exclaims with Carlos agreeing.
I glare at Carlos and he notices but doesn't look my way.
"What are you doing?!" I question him.
"I'm giving you the chance to get as much information as possible. Werewolves will not welcome a dragon, which by the way hasn't been seen in over a century in their territory." He reasons
"But you are the one who has been collecting the information the most." I retort back
"I have found that much anyway. Only a couple leads that led to a dead end. Whoever this experiment before us was, really knows how to cover his tracks." Carlos says
"Fine. I'll head back with them like you said and you get breakfast Luke." Carlos gasps in surprise.
"What?"
"It's just that you spoke his name." Carlos replies
I block him out.
