As he has me in his claws, I can feel the boiling heat but it doesn't burn me for some reason.

He flies high and loops down back towards the building that is on fire in some places.

I turn my head and look up at him, he eyes the building and opens his mouth. I expected fire to come out but instead a orange color acid spews out onto the building and it lights up in giant flames. So high that they come so close that if I wanted, I could've touched the tips of the fiery flames but the dragon flies higher.

As he flew farther away I turned my head to look back at the angry flames that are engulfing the laboratory.

But one question remains.... where is he taking me?

I try to pry his claws around my body off with all my strength but it was no use. He is much stronger then me, which is really unbelievable, he also growls then tightens his hold which squeezes me and makes it harder to breathe so I just quit trying.

"Where are you taking me?" I ask but also am determined to know.

"Somewhere safe...get some rest, I can tell you need it." He tells me.

How can he tell I need rest?

Suddenly he shifts in the air and puts me on his back between two of his sizzling hot spikes.  When I landed, I thought I was going to be burned but I wasn't.  I felt warm and safe.  Weird.

"Sleep Tiki, I don't know how long this will take". He says softly.

I just nod and try to get comfortable.

DAY LATER....

I feel myself start to wake up, but before I open my eyes I use my senses to see where I am.

I feel with my finger tips is something smooth and prickly at the same time.  I smell trees, birds, other animals...meat.  I hear leaves crunching and the birds grow quiet.  As if danger is near.

Wait.

I feel the heat of the sun beating down on me and a dangerous but familiar presence.  But I thought everyone was killed unless it is the dragon but the presence is very different.

That means one thing—I'm outside, I'm free!  As the presence gets closer I open my eyes and shoot up on my feet.

"Woah there T, otherwise you might give yourself a whiplash"  the familiar voice chuckles.

I wait a second until my dizziness is gone and look at the person in front of me.

The male looks around my age, Carmel skin, chocolate brown hair, dark colored eyes but gentle and a few inches taller than me.  He has the looks and acts all tough but is a giant softie inside, once you get to know him vibe to him.  Casual clothing too, but he is strange.  He has the aura of a leader yet I see no one else.  He's definitely a dragon shifter.

He takes a step towards me with his arms out and I flash my wolf eyes at him.

He stops walking towards me and frowns.

"What's wrong T?  Oh don't tell me you forgot me already!"  He acts hurt.

I eye him up and down carefully and deem him safe, he is no threat.

"Who are you?"  I ask hesitantly.

"You really don't remember me Tiki?"

I shake my head, then had an idea.  I don't trust that easily so I will test him first.

"Who are you!"  I demand this time, as he sighs.

"I'm Carlos Gomez, dragon and age shifter."  He says.

"How do 'we' know each other?"  I ask this time.

"A while back, I ran into some trouble with some wolves, they wanted to use me for ransom, but that doesn't matter right now.  Anyway, you can put it no where and killed all three wolves.  Which by the way, still freaks me out because of what you are capable of.  Anyway when I asked who you were you said 'Look all you need to know is Tiki and stand up for yourself if you know you can beat them.  Because I know you can from how much power you are radiating off of your body.'  And then you were gone just like that."  Carlos explains.

"Oh" I look around us for the first time.  We are in a opening with trees as a break line of tall grass and some patches of flowers here and there.  Not a single cloud in sight either.

"Do you remember anything at all?"  He asked hopefully.

"Bits and pieces."  As I turn my attention back on the dragon shifter.

"I remember you would help me with tracking when I would sneak around, a lake, you flying would you hold onto me with your dragon claws."

I think I'm remembering these things because I am experiencing the same thing I am now,  being free.

There is just one thing I am missing.

"How did I get here?"  I question him suspiciously.

"Oh!  I saw the lab building on fire when I was flying and went towards it.  When I got there it was mostly all ashes and rubble.  I was worried that you died but I know you couldn't have. I just thought you created the fire, so I sniffed around for your scent.  I caught it, but with a different scent I have never smelt before.  It was more sinister and smelled like death.  That made me more worried, that they did something really bad to you this time, so I followed the scents and when it felt stronger I came into view of a flash of orange and black light.  It only lasted for like a second so I wasn't sure if I was imagining things or not.  But I couldn't resist the urge to get a closer look, like it was pulling me.  I had no control of my body, it was the strangest feeling I have ever felt.  That's when I saw you and I was back in control of my own body.  Which thank goodness for that...haha". He finishes.

Interesting...

So where did the dragon go then?
