The stage was silent as if it was frozen in time. The three stared at Beatrice's form which was brimming with an unholy power. A deathly omen loomed in the air, stilling the noises of the wind.

"Let us begin right away."

Beatrice's distorted voice was a prelude to something. She raised her arms, and momentarily, threads of crimson appeared before they suddenly vanished off the tips of her fingers. Blue ashes gathered everywhere, coalescing into familiar forms. The pale blue army had returned in full force, ready to stand in their way.

"Vermins." The Pilot spat as he lowered his stance, while Hiyori and Misaki readied their weapons. The man then rushed forward and disappeared into thin air.

Slash!

The nearest ghost had its head cut off before it was even ready to fight. The Pilot was already right before it, flickering in the air like a wisp. Not even a fraction of a second later, his target was already clear. Another one of the pale army stabbed right through its heart.

Hiyori and Misaki also began by repelling those nearby. With their onslaught of sniper fire and rocket barrages, the ghosts could only return fire with no result as they used their famed guerilla tactics amidst the ruins. It was a cacophony of madness and destruction, where hail of bullets and rockets were flying in the air freely like the birds above.

Suddenly, a red light began to gather before Beatrice's "head". The Pilot swiftly noticed that something was terribly amiss, and dashed to the side. Ziiiing! A split second later, Beatrice fired a beam of crimson light, scorching the ground and the pale army who were unfortunate enough to be caught in it.

He glanced at the burning ground, before returning his attention to Beatrice and the legion that stood in his way. Although they were being slowly chipped off by the duo's cover fire, there was still a sizable amount of them.

Then...

What you have to do is simple, no?

Kill them all.

He tightened the grip on his blade, lunging forward with doubled ferocity. A ghost tried to open fire at him, but he was too quick, cutting her gun in half. Suddenly, he pulled out his knife and stabbed her under the chin. She let out a grim gurgle before returning to ashes. He retracted his knife and continued in his unrelenting advance.

He weaved through gunfire as if he could see it all. Another ghost stood in his way, but she was no match for him. He swiftly stabbed her right through the lens of her gas mask. He then dived into cover, avoiding a hail of ethereal bullets coming his way.
