Hyden's POV

She sat in silence, staring out the window, her head resting against the seat, though every few moments, I caught her hazy eyes glancing at me through her lashes. Her fingers fidgeted in her lap, and her lower lip was trapped between her teeth, a nervous habit I'd noticed, and it was driving me crazy like always.

I pressed my tongue against the inside of my cheek, trying to suppress the urge to kiss those full, soft lips that seemed to be taunting me. They were practically begging for it, and the longer I stared, the harder it became to resist. God, she had no idea what she was putting me through this whole trip.

My hand twitched at my side as I fought the pull, but I couldn't help the small, amused smile that crept onto my face. She looked like a kid who had just been scolded, all quiet and pouty, and it was doing things to me I couldn't explain. I swallowed hard, forcing my eyes back onto the road, glancing at the passing streets, knowing that if I let my control slip even for a second, I'd be leaning over and giving in to everything I was feeling. But I couldn't, at least not yet because this damn taxi driver is there.

Why the hell is he looking at back all the time?

My jaw tightened when I caught the driver's eyes again darting to the rearview mirror, his gaze lingering far too long on her this time. That was it, I couldn't stand it anymore and before I could stop myself, I pulled her to my chest, wrapping my arm tightly around her waist in a securer manner.

She gasped, startled, her hands immediately pressing against my chest as she silently struggled to free herself, but I didn't let her go. Her quiet protests only made me hold her tighter, pulling her firmly into my chest until there was no space left between us.  I cleared my throat deliberately, and the driver's face quickly turned away, his attention snapping back to the road. Good he learned his place!!

"Leave me, you Devil, go to that stupid red head" the kitten in my arms muttered taking my attention from the driver to her self, her voice soft yet laced with resistance and jealousy. Her hazy, tipsy eyes locked onto mine, a flicker of anger flashing within them. Her tipsy, threatening voice was almost amusing, and I couldn't help the smirk that crept onto my lips. Leaning in, I pressed my lips on her neck, feeling her sharp intake of breath as she gasped in surprise.

She'd been like this from the moment I dragged her out of the beach club, practically dangling her over my shoulder. Her protests rang out in the air, her words slurred and stubborn, insisting she wanted to dance more, even after that bastard had almost forcefully kissed her. I clenched my jaw at the memory, my grip tightening around her waist.

Why couldn't she see how much she was making me worry?

It had taken every ounce of self-control I had not to smash that guy's face in right then and there. His hands had been on her and I'd barely kept myself in check. But instead of thanking me, she was acting like a brat, whining like I'd ruined her night and her drunk friend wasn't helping either. Tash had been just as bad, both of them stumbling and laughing like they didn't have a care in the world. If Kevin hadn't been there to handle Tash, I might've lost it completely. He'd practically wrestled her out of the club while I dealt with this hot mess.

I looked down at her, still grumbling in my arms. "Why would I?" I murmured against her skin, my voice low and teasing. "You don't even have a cross with you. Do you? so how you are going to make me leave?" I let my lips brush over the pulsing vein in her neck, feeling her body stiffen beneath me. Her breath hitched, and she froze, a soft tremor running through her. I could barely suppress the laugh bubbling in my chest as I pulled back just enough to catch the puzzled, tipsy look in her eyes.

"You are a bad Devil" she slurred again, but the fight in her voice had all but disappeared replacing it with nervous confuse look. i smirk slightly while letting my fingers gently trace on her arm, feeling the warmth of her skin beneath my touch. She shivered slightly, and her eyes, still clouded ,softened with my touch.
