Hazel's POV

"Argh... my head hurts" I groaned, squeezing my eyes shut as a pounding headache throbbed behind them. I barely shifted when I heard Tash mumbling under her breath, stirring on the couch,  where the four of us were tangled together like a pile of exhausted kittens.

Tash let out a long, dramatic groan, her arm flopping over my face as she sprawled half on top of me, "Ughhh, why does my mouth taste like tequila?" Her voice came out more like a groan as she stretched.

"Because that's exactly what we drank" Eva whimpered from somewhere near my feet making me peeled my eyes open, regretting it instantly as the sunlight stabbed me like a thousand tiny needles.

"Whyyy is the sun so aggressive today?" I hissed, trying to burrow back into the blanket. it was too bright for a early morning.

Nora groaned, shoving at Tash's arm. "Move, demon. You're crushing my soul."  Tash lazily lifted her head, her makeup smudged like a raccoon's. "I was an angel last night." she mumbled, her voice more a complaint than a statement, as she sulked and rubbed her forehead.

I snorted with a lazy chuckle, the memories of her wild antics from last night flickering through my mind. "Yeah... an angel of chaos." She pouted, then dropped back onto me with a dramatic sigh, snuggling in closer like I was her personal pillow but i started to feel more awake when I heard Eva's loud gasp, she peeked over the blanket, her face scrunched. "Wait... did we actually try to bake cupcakes last night, or did I dream that?" and there was a moment of Silence.

I tried to piece together what happened after the karaoke session, session but all the pictures were blurred. Then Tash gasped. "OMG The oven!

We all shot up,  groans echoed through the room as our hangovers punched us in the skulls. Tash blinked blearily. "Wait... did we actually turn it on or not?" she said trying hard to open her half closed eyes.

"We never even got to that point. We couldn't even make the mixture properly," Nora groaned as she sat up, rubbing her temples and there were sighs of relief.

"Thank God," I mumbled, breathing in pure relief. "If we had, we'd probably be waking up to ashes instead of this apartment." I said again pulling the blanket over my head.  Eva, still half-buried in blankets, mumbled, "Honestly? Wouldn't even be surprised. We are not meant to be in a kitchen."

Nora suddenly gasped. "Wait. What time is it?" She fumbled for her phone, practically sliding off the couch in the process. Squinting at the screen , her eyes widened and then, like she'd been struck by lightning, she shot up now frantically looking around for her things.

"Oh my god, it's almost 10 ! I have to go, my baby is probably waiting for me!"

"You're not staying for breakfast?" Tash asked, stretching with a yawn.

"Nope, no time—Sophie's probably already driving Mom crazy. I need to go" Nora said as scrambled around, checking under the couch, the coffee table, and even inside a random empty pizza box.

Eva, still half-asleep, lifted her head just enough to point lazily. "I think your purse is under me."

Nora wasted no time yanking it free, practically toppling Eva in the process. "Got it!, I'll see you guys when we're all in our bridesmaid dresses."" she declared triumphantly before making a beeline for the door.

"Text us when you make it home alive!" I called after her.

"Only if I survive Sophie's wrath!" she shouted, just before the door slammed shut behind her.
