I woke up to the sound of Connor knocking on my door.
"Why are you home?" He walks in. "Oh that's not Michael"
"Hi I'm Luke, nothing happened by the way, I just wanted to make sure she came home safely" luke introduced himself.
"Where's Michael? Are you okay? What did he do?" Connor worries.
"No it's okay, I just wanted to come home" I lie.
"Then why did Luke bring you home and Michael didn't?" Connor tries to suds things out
"Michael was drunk" Luke speaks up.
Connor just gives up and leaves the room.
"What should I do Luke? I don't want to forgive him straight away but I feel like if I don't he will forget me and just leave me alone" I try not to cry.
"The only advice I can give you right now is wait till he comes to you and see how it goes" Luke hugs me.
"Do you have someone you love?" I stare at Luke.
"Yeah I do. Would you like to go meet her?"
"You have a girlfriend? Omg will she be okay about last night?"
"Yeah of corse she will. I bet she would love you, get dressed and I'll meet you outside" he laughs.
As I do.
"How are we getting there?" It ask Luke.
"We can just walk. She doesn't live to far from here" he laughs.
After about a 30 minute walk we get to Luke's girlfriends house. Luke knocks on the door.
"Luke!" A brown headed girl cuddles Luke.
"Jan, this is Jess, Michaels-uh girlfriend" luke introduces.
"Hi nice to meet you, and Jan is just a nick name, it's actually January" she laughs.
"Nice to meet you too" I smile.
"Please come in, I'm home alone" January opens the door more.
"So Luke how's the boys?" January asks as we all sit on the couch.
"They're good, I missed you though" he grabs her hand. Great third wheeling to the max.
"Whatever Luke" she laughs
"I hope you don't mind but Luke stayed at my house last night" I blur out feeling bad.
"How bad was his snoring? " she laughs
"What? How do you not care?" I ask
"Because I trust Luke, and I know he loves me too much to do anything. And plus we've been together for 4 years and I'm pretty sure we are stuck together" she laughs. "And I'm the only girl who will take Luke"
"Fuck you Jan!" Luke playfully hits her.
"Ha maybe later" she laughs.
"But it's tried because I'm a fucking idiot" Luke laughs
"Yeah but you're my idiot" January smiles.
"4 years is a long time" I sign.
"I'm going to go get some water" luke gets up and leaves
"Is there something you wanna talk about Jess?" January looks at me
"When did you know you were in love with Luke?" I ask
"Let me tell you something about love Jess, you don't expect it. It's something that just happens. I never felt like I needed to be different around Luke, I felt comfortable in whatever, I could wear anything and he wouldn't care. I didn't have to act like some perfect person for him. And I guess he was the same around me. So I knew I was in love with Luke from the word go because I think that we are just meant to be"
"Who said I love you first?"
"Luke did, it was well after our first time and he said "I don't care where I go but as long as I am with you because well I'm in love with you, I love you Jan" and yeah. Why don't you tell me about you and Michael"
After I tell her everything Luke comes back in.
"Well the advice I have for I to just wait because sounds like to me you got a keeper, just don't leave him alone while he's drunk. And he hasn't called you because he either doesn't remember it or he feels so guilty he can't seem to bring himself to face you" January comforts me.
I don't know what it was about her but it just seems so natural to talk to her, like she is my best friend already. Her green eyes look so pretty with Luke's blue eyes. Not going to lie they look so good together.
We just sit and watch movies for most of the day. And they didn't actually make me feel like the third wheel. They made me sit in the middle of them.
"I should probably go home" I say.
"I'll drive ya" January offers. "Luke wanna come?"
"Are you kidding me? Any opportunity for me to hear you lovely singing voice, I gotta take" Luke laughs.
We all get into the car and I take the back seat. Just so Luke and January can sit together for once today.
Luke turns on the radio and him and January sing along.
It was cute to watch because they reminded me of Michael and I.
When we arrive at my house I say goodbye and thanks to both of them and wave as they reverse out of the drive way. And that's when it hit me. I need to see Michael but then again I don't want to see Michael.
I walk through my front door to see Michael talking to Connor. Fuck. I just talked myself into not seeing him.
They don't see me so I just sneak up stairs and lock myself in my bedroom.
Why am always locking myself in a room away from my problems? What is wrong with you Jess? Stop being a pussy and get out and face him. But I can't I stand frozen leaning on my door. When Michael knocks and asks to come in.
