Rapi's eyes bore into the back of the Commander's head. Her leer untrained as to keep herself aware of her surroundings as she walked beside Nihilister.
"Never seen you give him that expression before. That talk you two had just now must have pissed you off."
"Far from it." Rapi muttered. "He's changing... getting a better grasp on the world he's involved in."
"Hm. You must mean the Ark. Politics, huh?" She mused.
Rapi shot her a skeptical look at how quick she was to catch on, since she was surely out of earshot.
"Don't give me that, the kid's been about that ever since I invaded the dump. He understands what having me on his roster means. First Modernia, and now me. That scrap heap hasn't seen anything like him."
Rapi reluctantly nodded.
"So the kid wants power. Smart. He has exactly what it takes but time. He's told me that things are shifting, faster than he can get his hands on." Nihilister relayed.
Rapi's leer slowly found its way to Nihilister instead. "Why has he told you about all this before me?"
"Hell if I know. You think I want him to talk my ear off?" Nihilister shrugged and looked ahead at his imposing figure.
The two both kept their gaze on him, watching as he blew away a blockage of crystals with a single, lazy strike.
"You don't like him... right?" Rapi whispered.
Nihilister wanted nothing more than to agree with the claim, but the twinge of doubt— the hope in her core that he could actually keep this stride and make a change caused her to hesitate.
Feeling the moment pass in an awkward silence, Rapi shook her head. "Infectious, I know. His reach spans far and wide."
Nihilister clicked her tongue. She felt conditioned by his presence to actually believe in him. But after all, it wasn't hard to do when the sight before them was a single human paving the way for Nikkes in the literal and metaphorical sense.
"Yeah..." was all she could muster.

The terrain would shift, change, morph, warp— it wouldn't end. No matter what progress he'd make by plowing through the crystals and buildings, it was if obstacles were placed before him time and time again to prevent him from succeeding.
"Commander, me and Shifty are starting to think that this entire layout is the work of an intelligent being. Our problems have been artificial, carefully placed to obstruct us." Liveryn spoke up.
He didn't respond, his fist already having cleaved through more crystal.
Intelligent or not, it'd be no match for him, but that didn't mean he could proceed without the concern for his team's safety.
