Avalon stood before a mirror back at Reclamation Site 1, with Guilty and Cinderella standing behind him. The Commander was turning and twirling as he analyzed his new look, his body language clearly displaying discomfort.
"I look like a demon..."
"Fitting, is it not?" Behemoth mused.
The Commander jerked his head up, before remembering she was the armor now. "That an insult?"
A muffled chuckle escaped her. "Of course not, brother dearest, I wouldn't dream of insulting you."
"Fret not, my knight. While shrouded in darkness, the beauty of your heart radiates as blindly as I do!" Cinderella sung.
He was still unnerved by her odd favor with him. Even in this imposing form, she showered him with compliments and affection, claiming that he was her knight in shining armor.
After her rescue, she and Grace had vowed to help them in reclaiming the surface— but it was very obvious he needed to hide this from the Central Government.
After all, he had not only revived and rescued a former a Heretic, he had fused his armor with one as well. That only made his Heretic recruitment number jump to 4, if you counted Marian with the Goddess Squad.
Only Andersen and Ingrid knew of her revival, and Shifty and Mana were going the extra mile to keep Burningum out of the loop.
The Commander sighed and dropped the armor to its limited state, finding fare more formidable defense in deep black encasing over his right forearm and left arm.
"You know this thing is dead, right? You should certainly get this checked out." Behemoth had raised his left arm and waved it at the mirror.
"I'm aware, but it's not like I've got the time on my hands. You did call in the cavalry after all."
Behemoth scoffed. "I didn't ask her to appear, she's brash like that. But, it does make things far more interesting, so I'll be entertained."
"All of this on a whim. Are you certain we can do this with a limited squad, Commander?" Guilty asked with a frown.
"Well, no, but we don't have another choice..."
Shifty and Mana were no longer their operators, seeing as they were tasked in assisting with the rest of the destruction of the Crystal Region, but he was tasked with Leviathan's.
Behemoth had revealed shortly after they returned to the surface that in a call with her "ex-sister," she made the impulsive decision to come over and open the coffin— but that was before the Commander had won her over.
So now, the two sides were sure to clash, and now it was a good a time as any to make another Heretic a statistic.
At least, that's what the Central Government was thinking.
