"Are you... injured?" His voice was still slow and weak between pants.
"You're seriously asking her that?! After she just ruined all chances of your arm getting healed?!" Nihilister stood up with a glare.
Rapi was silent, her eyes fascinated by the floor as Nihilister bore into her.
"Yeah, I am. And she better answer." The Commander's own glare was what she couldn't face.
"I'm... I'm fine. Just tired." Rapi whispered.
"Rapi?! Commander?!"
The three heard Anis, Neon, and Guilty shouting from nearby. The commotion was sure to worry their friends and comrades, but it seemed only his team was sent in response.
The three arrived on the scene in relief seeing them visibly unharmed. The Commander thanked himself for his quick thinking in his arm's brace.
"You guys okay? We heard a crazy loud fight go down!" Anis asked with worry.
"We're fine—" The Commander tried to lie, but Nihilister wasn't having that.
"No. We're not. The kid's arm is dead, and no thanks to her, we've got zero lead on how to get to the Harmony Cube from here." She barked.
"What? What does she mean?" Guilty spoke up.
"The Pilgrim. Her coffin had a Heretic in it, so Red over here decided to go ballistic and pick a fight— no questions asked," Nihilister then gestured to the Commander, "And with a heart of gold, the kid tried to stop her and get answers."
She then glared at Rapi even harder. "But she wasn't having that either. And here we are."
Anis and Neon tread over to the Commander and immediately noticed that Avalon was covering his left arm entirely. The dots were connected, but all that remained...
"Is it true?" Guilty asked Rapi.
Rapi couldn't face any of them.
"Did you know her?" The Commander asked.
She couldn't respond immediately. She stammered on her words, but closed her mouth to think—
"I asked a question."
"I don't know. I knew her face... her name. But I don't know how. I think it's because of Red Hood's memories." Rapi replied.
"Red Hood... feel like I've heard that name from about every Pilgrim ever." The Commander muttered. "What's she have to do with you?"
"It's... a long story. The short version, is that she once resided inside me. But, not long ago, she parted ways with me. Now, what's left is the power we culminated."
"So you did all that on a whim. And I took you for the smart one..." Nihilister scoffed and balled her fists.
The Commander was helped to his feet, and looked over at Rapi.
