As it is my birthday on Wednesday, I thought I would do a little something here. I hope you enjoy.

(Y/n) woke from her slumbers, a large smile making its way onto her lips; today was her birthday and she was sure that Oswald would do something wonderful for her. That he would lavish his attention on her and make her feel like the only woman in the world; not that he didn't do that the rest of the time, but usually her sweet Ozzie saved up something special, for her big day. And even if he was busy, he would forget about all that, and just be with her.

Slowly, she pushed herself up so that she was seated in the bed, watching the door; sure, that at any minute she would see her husband's smiling face coming into the room, his hands filled with a tray of food, that they could share for breakfast. Yet as the minutes passed, and Oswald did not appear her smile began to fade; (Y/n) finally pushing back the sheets and placing her feet into the lush carpet on the floor. Perhaps Oswald was waiting downstairs for her. Perhaps he had the dining room all set out, and he was just waiting for her to come down. Yes, that was it; (Y/n) reaching for her dressing gown and pulling it around her shoulders, before heading for the door.

Quickly she made her way out into the hall and then down the staircase. Her bare feet carrying her to the dining room. (Y/n) taking a deep breath, as she placed her hands on the handles of the doors and prepared to find something wonderful.

"Ah, my dove........." Oswald said with a smile, folding his paper, as (Y/n) made her way into the room, that was as it would always be. Not a sign of anything for her birthday.

"Ozzie......." (Y/n) replied, as she made her way over to him, and placed a kiss to his lips, before taking her usual seat. Her eyes looking around, hoping that at any moment her husband would either say something sweet and present her with a gift, or something would come into the room.

"Is everything alright, my heart........?" Oswald asked, as he reached out and took her hand.

"I..........do you know what day it is, Ozzie? I mean the date, the month.........?"

"What a strange thing to ask.......of course I do, why would I not........?"

"And you can't think of anything important about today......?" (Y/n) countered. Her brows furrowing as Oswald mused for a moment, raising his tea cup to his lips.

"No. I..............." (Y/n) snatching her hand away at his reply, before she got to her feet.

"Well then, if there is nothing important about today, I will just take myself out for the day. I am sure that you have so many important things to be getting on with. Something far more important than me........." (Y/n) huffed, then turning making her way to the door.

"Do you not want to have breakfast........?" Oswald called out, as he picked back up his paper, nonchalantly; it as if he hadn't heard anything she had just said.

"No! Something has put me off food......." She replied curtly, before making her way out of the room. (Y/n) not noticing the smile that was on her husband's lips, as she slammed the door behind her.

                                                            >>--------------------------------<<

(Y/n) made her way back down the staircase. She had been fuming as she had dressed. It wasn't that she expected much; she didn't want some huge party, some ridiculously expensive gift, all she wanted was her husband for the day and a present that he had put some thought into. But it was obvious that Oswald no longer cared enough for her to remember her birthday, never mind care to spend the day with her. So, she would spend the day with herself, doing all the things that she didn't normally get the chance to do.
