Forty-One
IT TOOK WARREN EXACTLY an hour to finish preparing himself and taking a bath at the same time. Within that one hour, Warren completely soaked himself with his usual body wash, which brings out the scent that David likes so much.
It's the body wash that makes him smell earthy and citrusy.
Warren casually stepped out of his room with a towel on his shoulder. He didn't even bother wearing a shirt and just put on a simple pajama that hangs low on his waist, giving David a view of his v-cut as well.
Stepping into the living room, he saw David sitting on one of the high stools in the open kitchen and munching on some french fries.
Warren's eyes drifted on the paper bags placed on top of the island counter. Must've been the foods David ordered.
Warren stifled a smile when he saw his bodyguard was topless too. Apparently, these two men were thinking the same thing.
Why bother wearing a shirt if they're just going to undress each other later anyway?
Ang pinagkaiba lang nilang dalawa ay nakasuot lamang si David ng black boxer briefs, di katulad ni Warren na naka-pajama.
"You have your own bathroom inside your room?" Kuryosong tanong ni David nang makalapit si Warren.
"Yeah, why?"
"Nung lumipat kasi ako dito doon ka lumabas sa bathroom na yun." Turo ni David sa pintuan na katabi lang ng kuwarto ni Warren.
"I have a total of four bathrooms here. The one in your room, in my room, the one you just pointed out, and the last one was in the gym area."
"Why do you have so many bathrooms when you're just living alone?" Sunod na tanong ni David atsaka inilapit ang isang piraso ng fries sa bibig ni Warren.
Warren automatically opened his mouth and ate the fries.
"It's for convenience," simpleng sagot ni Warren. "If the bathroom in my room gets clogged, I'll be able to use the other spares I have here in the penthouse. As for the bathroom in your room, its purpose was to give whoever my guest would be some privacy."
David propped his elbow on the island and leaned his face on his hand.
"Oh bakit ka pa nag-eexpect ng guest dito? Akala ko tatay mo lang ang allowed dito?"
"Yes. He's the only one allowed in here," tugon ni Warren.
"Then what's the purpose of having a spare room? I mean, I highly doubt that your father would spend the night here if he tries for a visit."
Warren shrugged his shoulders and leaned his body forward on the island. He stared at the pristine white surface of the furniture.
"I guess, at some point, I still felt like the things I have in my life were bound to change someday."
Warren turned his head in David's direction. "My mother used to say that 'life is constantly changing' and that includes the things you currently possess. I realized that eventually I would have to bring someone here in this penthouse, overruling that single rule I established for myself."
David nods at Warren's words. "When you've thought about that, who do you have in mind?"
"My partner," Warren answered with no hesitation. "I would prefer my partner to be the main reason why I'm breaking that one rule I established for myself."
"Why?"
"Because it would look poetic and romantic," Warren said and the corner of his lips curled up.
