Twenty-Six

BUONG AKALA ni David ay titigil na si Warren sa mga kilos nito dahil sa nangyari sa kanilang dalawa, ngunit nagkamali siya.

Warren's treatment of David was still the same. He cooks him delectable meals, washes the dishes for him, always offers him the neck pillow, and acts like a gentleman to David all the time, even though Omar was with them.

Ang bago lang sa mga kilos ni Warren ay wala na itong pasabog na handa para kay David.

No expensive gifts. No renting-the-whole-restaurant type of thing. No unwanted surprises that would surely rub David the wrong way. However, there's one thing that's been bothering David for the last five days after rejecting Warren's feelings...

Warren was somehow avoiding him. David wasn't quite sure if 'avoiding' was the right term for this because when they're at the penthouse, Warren isn't acting any different at all.

Kinakausap ni Warren si David kahit papaano, ngunit nagbabago ang lahat ng iyon kapag nasa Spider Web na silang dalawa.

Noon, ay laging nasa loob si David ng opisina ni Warren at nakabantay lang sa gilid nito pero ngayon ay nasa labas na siya ng opisina nagbabantay.

David could still vividly remember Warren's words. And even up to this day, it still doesn't fail to put him in a sour mood.

"Stay here. You can just guard me from the outside of my office from now on. I have a lot of paperwork on my plate today, so I would appreciate it if I could have some alone time."

"Ha? Puwede naman ako maging tahimik katulad ng ginagawa ko lagi ah. Para saan pa at gagawin mo 'to?" Kunot-noong tanong ni David.

Warren gently shakes his head. "You're a distraction to me, David. I won't be able to finish anything if you're in the same room with me. I'm certain that I'll just keep on looking in your direction."

Heat made its way to David's cheeks, painting it with a faint shade of red. Apparently, an honest Warren wasn't on David's bingo card. He still can't believe that this man caught feelings for him.

What a fucking turn of events!

"Also, I don't want to make you angry or uncomfortable with my actions. I really like you, and I'm not the type of person that hides his feelings from the person I am attracted to. It'll show along with my actions and words." Napalunok si Warren nang maalala niya nanaman ang mga salitang binitawan ni David ng gabing iyon.

He smiled sadly as he felt a sharp pain in his chest. "That's why I'm trying to limit our interactions. We're living in the same household, and I know that's too much for you already, kaya ginagawa ko 'to."

Nakatitig lang si David kay Warren sa mga sandaling iyon, pilit na iniintindi agad ang mga salitang lumalabas sa bibig nito.

"I hope you don't take my actions the wrong way, David. You wanted me to be honest, right? This is it."

David physically shivered at the soothing tone that Warren's voice possessed. David will never get used to Warren talking to him that way.

Nung una kami magkakilala laging walang buhay ang boses niya, 'tas ngayon napakalambing na at sobrang mahinahon? David thought.

"I'll see you in a bit."

Hindi naman na naka-alma si David dahil bago pa siya makapagsalita at mapigilan si Warren ay nakapasok na ito sa kanyang opisina.
