At Starr Rink this weekend, Mike Borkowski begins his sophomore season as Colgate plays Ferris State hoping to open the 2013-14 season with a massive victory. With 14:12 left in the first period, Mike Borkowski scored his first goal of the season to make it 1-0 Colgate. With 12:22 left in the first period, Andrew Black scored his first goal of the season to make it 2-0 Raiders. Charlie Finn (making his NCAA debut) and CJ Motte matched zeros for the remainder of the period so Colgate leads 2-0 heading to the second period. With 16:07 left in the second period, Cory Kane scored to make it 2-1 Hamiltonians. With 6:31 left in the second period, Scott Czarnowczan scored to tie the game 2-2. With 3:18 left in the second period, Jason Binkley scored to make it 3-2 Ferris State. Finn and Motte matched zeros for the remainder of the period so Ferris State leads 3-2 heading to the second intermission dressing rooms. With 19:02 left in the third period, Tyson Spink scored his first goal of the season to tie the game 3-3. With 18:09 left in the third period, Tylor Spink scored his first goal of the season, on the power play to make it 4-3 Raiders. Mike Borkowski picks up his first assist of the season on the Spink power play goal. With 16:59 left in the third period, Kyle Schempp scored to tie the game 4-4. With 14:31 left in the third period, Garrett Thompson scored to make it 5-4 Ferris State. With 10:14 left in the third period, Justin Buzzeo scored to make it 6-4 Bulldogs. With 53 seconds left in the third period, Matt Robertson scored to make it 7-4 Ferris State. CJ Motte finished off the Raiders and Ferris State wins 7-4. Colgate dropped to 0-1-0 on the season.
