After being outclassed last night, the Colgate Raiders return to Starr Rink one final time in the 2013 calendar year as they conclude matters with UMass on Sunday afternoon in Hamilton. With 8:51 left in the first period, Steven Iacobellis scored to make it 1-0 in favor of the boys from Amherst. Eric Mihalik and Steve Mastalerz matched zeros for the remainder of period number one so we'll head to period number two with Colgate trailing 1-0. With 19:13 left in the second period, Michael Pereira scored to make it 2-0 UMass. With 8:35 left in the second period, Mike Borkowski scored his fifth goal of the season to make it 2-1 Minutemen. Mihalik and Mastalerz matched zeros for the remainder of the period so 2-1 Massachusetts leads heading to period number three. With 8:37 left in the third period, Steven Iacobellis scored to make it 3-1 Massachusetts. With 5:45 left in the third period, Mike Borkowski scored his sixth goal of the season, his second goal of the game to make it 3-2 Minutemen. Steve Mastalerz finished off the Raiders and UMass skates off with a 3-2 win at Starr Rink. Colgate dropped to 7-9-2 on the season heading into the holiday break.
