Selection Sunday comes and goes without Colgate making it to the NCAA tournament for what would've been the second consecutive season. This news ends Mike Borkowski's junior season with 6 goals, 14 assists for a total of 20 points as he really came into his own after returning for an alleged season-ending injury. Borkowski now has 17 goals, 48 assists for a total of 65 points for his career so far. Borkowski showed his leadership abilities on and off the ice so far in his maroon and white journey and should be one of the leadership core for this Raiders team in his senior season here at Colgate.
While Borkowski departs from Colgate for the summer, the work is far from done as he is now two times as hungry for a championship next season as he's been beaten both times he's been in the ECAC Championship game. Borkowski has been an influential presence on the Colgate men's ice hockey team for the past three seasons and his stats speak for themselves as he's taken college hockey by storm over the course of his Colgate career. Mike Borkowski will look to leave Colgate as a Colgate hockey legend which he is on an excellent track to do just that!
This book has been an absolute blast to write as Colgate's best player in years walked among us for this story alone. Borkowski's story is one I've wanted to share with the masses for years now and here I am sharing it with you right now. Mike Borkowski is to this day an icon in my eyes because he brought Colgate to a place they hadn't been in 24 years and that is what makes his story and his legacy so special in many Colgate fans' eyes. Go Raiders and I'll see you in the offseason!
