It's the second half of Mike Borkowski's sophomore season and the Colgate Raiders were on the road in Minneapolis, Minnesota to play the top ranked Golden Gophers of Minnesota hoping for a monumental upset here this evening. Charlie Finn and Adam Wilcox matched zeros for the remainder of the period so no score at Mariucci Arena after one period. With 17:35 left in the second period, Michael Brodzinski scored to make it 1-0 Minnesota. With 11:31 left in the second period, Joe Wilson scored his second goal of the season to tie the game 1-1. With 4:46 left in the second period, Darcy Muprhy scored his ninth goal of the season to make it 2-1 Colgate. Mike Borkowski picks up his twelfth assist of the season on the Murphy tally. Finn and Wilcox matched zeros for the remainder of period number two so we'll head to period number three with Colgate leading 2-1. With 9:29 left in the third period, Travis Boyd scored to tie the game 2-2. Finn and Wilcox matched zeros for the remainder of regulation so we'll head to extra hockey because of the same 2-2 tie between Colgate and Minnesota. Finn and Wilcox matched zeros in overtime so we'll play a shootout tied 2-2. Mike Borkowski and Ryan Johnston scored in the shootout and Colgate advances to the Mariucci Classic championship game because of a 3-2 win over Minnesota but it goes down as a tie in the national rankings. Colgate shifted to 7-9-3 on the season.
