After the class of 2016's second win over Clarkson so far in their careers, the Colgate Raiders return to Starr Rink to play the defending national champs, the Yale Bulldogs hoping to ride the wave to another win. With 12:01 left in the first period, Carson Cooper scored to make it 1-0 Yale. With 4:07 left in the first period, Jesse Root scored to make it 2-0 in favor of the defending national champions. Eric Mihalik and Alex Lyon matched zeros for the remainder of the period so Yale leads 2-0 heading to the second period. With 11:10 left in the second period, Derek Freeman scored his first career goal to make it 2-1 Bulldogs. With 6:55 left in the second period, Chris Izmirlian scored to make it 3-1 in favor of Coach Allain's Dawgs. With 5:20 left in the second period, Mike Doherty scored to make it 4-1 Yale. With 1:03 left in the second period, Kyle Baun scored his sixth goal of the season, on the power play to make it 4-2 Bulldogs. Mihalik and Lyon matched zeros for the remainder of the period so 4-2 Yale leads heading to the second intermission. With 57 seconds left in the third period, Jesse Root scored to make it 5-2 Bulldogs. Alex Lyon finished off the Raiders and the defending champions win 5-2. Colgate dropped to 6-7-1 on the season and 4-3-0 in ECAC Hockey play.
